For context, the trade in value for this device even with 128gb storage at Google store is $540 Smilie when buying the pixel 9 or higher

Agreed. It was just an ironic observation.

Yeah, trade-in values are definitely skewed towards being an actual discount than reflecting actual values of the phones.

picked it up. 8a comparable price at 128gb, and why pay $50 less for the 7a when you can have this monster. as long as the OLED screen holds up, I'll be using this thing beyond the usable life with Lineage OS

I bought Pixel 7 Pro 128GB two years ago for $495. After 2 years of use. Screen overheats after few minutes when set to maximum brightness, phone/CPU overheats when video call is longer than 20-30 minutes, only charges from USB-C socket, main camera is slow to focus. These are all common issues, especially screen overheating. It was perfect when it was new. I wish warranty on it was longer.

I've been using my pixel 7 pro since it launched. Still a rock solid reliable phone. I did lodge some debris in the charge port for awhile that gave me a headache but that went away. Other than that why aren't thess ever getting cheap? Great phone. Never ever had screen overheating issues myself.
