So yeah if you have owned the unit for a few years... and a new foil/blade is $70 but you can get a whole new unit with a fresh battery for $99 it unfortunately makes sense to go that route. I really wish the batteries were swappable.
Time for a new shaver since the blades on my existing arc5 shavers (ES-LV65-S) are already $70.
Use Discover for extra 5% off or Amex blue for 3% or Amazon prime with delayed shipping for 6% off.

This is better than Braun 7 for sure (I have both). Much closer shave. I'm not sure how much Braun 9 is better than the 7.
I had Braun with a cleaning station. Not a big fan. I prefer to just wash a shaver under a tap with some liquid soap.
Also for those that have either the Arc 3 or Arc 4, the upgrade from the Arc 3 is noticeable in shaving speed. However, the upgrade from the Arc 4, you might not notice a big difference. However, if your shaver is getting long in the tooth, this is a great shaver for $100 bucks.

The older blades are still decent once you clean them. They lose sharpness but running them twice or 3x does the trick.
