Thanks OP, this is actually about $2 cheaper from when I last purchased this same combo in November 2022, and my current M365 Family sub ends this summer. It's nice to know that I won't have to concern myself about it again for a while.
Like others say, the OneDrive storage alone is worth it to have an off-prem copy of your critical data, and the Office desktop apps are just a bonus. The slightly stepped-up Microsoft Defender is a nice bennie, too.
I'm sure I'll be downvoted for being "a sucker to the man of Microsoft" but I wonder how many people will be posting that from an iDevice. 😆 Pick your Big Tech poison, I suppose.

Anyone know if you MUST activate within 60 days (or similar). I have a 365 personal, want to switch to family, but have a bit over a year left on personal subscription. Maybe buy now and then about this time next year activate the family plan.

Codes should stay valid for a long time. BUT, you do not have to wait.

When you add the family plan, they will upgrade your existing personal to family and then add the FULL value /time of the family key code. This is an old hack for first time subscribers to get a lower cost for 2+ years of M365 family plan. I did this 5+ years ago and I've seen mention of others doing this more recently.

Also, if you have an active family plan and attempt to add personal license - You will get a prompt for one of two options:

A.) Stay on family with swap to personal in the future.
B.) Add the personal sub to your family plan, but only get 75% of the length / value of the personal sub. (Which is actually a good deal in this case.)

I just added one of each to my existing family plan to max it out to 2029. I redeemed the family license key first to add 15 months. Then redeemed the 15m personal key. I was expecting ~11 months but they gave me a full 12 months of family with the 15m personal key choosing option B during redemption.

For those already on a family plan and wanting to add more time - Buy the 15m personal deal here and redeem for 12m family. This is actually a better deal than the 15m family plan assuming you don't want the bonus item.

$68 / 15 month family = $4.53 / month family.
$40 / 15 month personal with a conversion down to 12 month family = $3.33 / month family.

Also don't forget about the Newegg $100 gift card for $90. (max 2) Giftcard came via email in less than ~5 minutes. https://slickdeals.net/f/17907255-newegg-100-gift-card

You can stack to extend your subscription for up to ~5 years before expiration. Recommend using the NewEgg gift card deal as well.

I went ahead and topped mine up as there is rumor / speculation pricing is about to go up due to new subscription plans that may involve co-pilot credits.

Is this stackable? I recently bought 1-yr subscription from a similar deal earlier this year. Can I extend my subscription with this?

I bought a personal one few months ago. So, if I buy this now, will it add +15months to my personal account?
Also, should I use the same personal account email as my main email for this?

I mean, Say, I used [email protected] for my personal 365 deal. And use [email protected] for family 365 and add [email protected] as a family member, would it extend [email protected] subscription by additional 15months? Please advice. TIA

No need for this complexity. See my two posts above.

Yes. Up to ~5 years. Just topped mine up. Expiration now Sept 2029.

A word of caution for doing this. I added the family plan first, had a 3/26/26 expiration. Bought/added the personal and chose the "family" option. Instead of getting 12 months, I only got 9 months, so now my expiration is 12/25/26. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing this option as the value isn't quite as good.

Oh well.. i finally bought 2 of them and now i only got 18 months for family conversion. I guess 68$ for 15 months 80$ for 18 months.. still not a bad deal.

You had 30 months of personal and that converted to only 18 months of family? Doesn't sound right

Same thing happened to me. 15 month single only converted to 9 month family. Still decent deal, but was hoping for 12 months.

I also learnt it the hard way in September when I bought a 15-month instead of 12-month personal key.

It seems the 15 months are 12 months plus a 3 months additional promo. When you activate those keys on a family account, Microsoft will only acknowledge the standard 12 months and will pro rate to 9 months. So it will not be worth buying a 15-month personal key if you want to activate it on a family account.

Good Catch. I went back to check my expiration date after letting it sit over night. I see Microsoft has also reduced my expiration date by an additional 3 months.

That comes out to $4.44 / mth so nothing lost... but that doesn't match the 15m product I purchase from NewEgg and Microsoft's policy for adding 75% the length of Sub when redeeming a Personal Key and staying on a Family plan.

For what it's worth - The full 15 months from the initial family sub appears to have stayed in place (without auto renew enabled). So I believe Microsoft's redemption expiration logic is wrong here rather than NewEgg's advertising of the 15m for the personal product.

I'm reaching out to Microsoft support as the error appears to be on their end.

I would recommend others who have done the conversion reach out to Microsoft support as well.
