You need to keep Cricket service for 6 consecutive months, then Cricket will unlock it

For anyone who wants it actually unlocked at some point, it will cost you $100 + $120 + $120, which includes 6 months of cricket service. Two months of unlimited and four months of the $30 5gb plan.

Not bad at all if you need a decent new phone + plan. Cricket is also rock-solid as far as quality of service is concerned.

If you are on Cricket already, you can get it cheaper, because they only require 1 month when adding a new line.
I don't know about the activation, but you can just insert your current sim card and it will work.
You can still unlock the phone, just insert your current sim and keep service for 6 months, after that, you can contact Cricket and they will give you the unlock code, I have done it a few times.

Is this locked to Cricket, or would other AT&T MVNOs work? I am currently on Boost Mobile. Thanks!

So I'm on cricket now with 5 lines and plan on staying with cricket. Can I get this by adding a line with the $60 plan and then canceling after I receive the phone?

That's what i just did, I'm on 4 lines for $100 and added a 5th line. The $60 plan came out to $40 with the 5th line discount.

So my total was about $150 with taxes and fees.

This is my first time doing this so I'm guessing I have to activate the phone and then immediately call in to cancel the new line and then pop in my current sim.

I don't know if you guys noticed but it says no high definition is available on any plan. What does this actually mean?

When the phone arrives, can you just not activate it and insert your existing sim card on the new phone (so keeping 4 lines without calling in and canceling the new line)? Will the new line just drop off without any charges since you never call in to activate?

I honestly don't know. When I last checked my cricket account, the 5th line showed up already. Unfortunately I haven't been able to access the app today, says there's a server issue.

So I'm assuming I'll be billed for 5 lines next time. I just want the 5th line gone ASAP so I'm calling in as soon as I get the phone.
