Be careful with your trade in. I jumped on this deal last time. It took several days to get it to Samsung and then several more days for their tech to look at it. They told me that my old watch was not resetted even though I did do the reset. They asked for proof, but I did not take a video of me resetting the watch. They said their tech could not do the reset. So they denied my trade-in, and returning my old watch. However they said the return Windows has passed so I cannot return the Watch 7. So I have to keep the Watch 7 and they charged me $200 for it. But then they said they will reset my old watch before returning it. But I am scratching my head because they said they can't reset my old watch in the 1st place. And now they are resetting it because the trade in was denied. Huh? I don't get it. I have been a loyal fan with Samsung for many years. I have had many of their premium products. This is stupid and I am done with them.

Sorry for the rant. If you're doing this trade-in. Be sure to take a video of you resetting your device in case they want proof. So you don't end up like my case.

Rule #1. Always pay with a virtual card
Rule #2. Record EVERYTHING. Condition of the watch, resetting, how much it was charged, packaging it.

If you follow these 2, Samsung will almost never do anything.

Also, lately Samsung is taking far too long to get the trade-ins evaluated. From the last deal, mine got delivered to them on Oct 28, and they told me to reach back on Nov 15 if the trade in was still not evaluated. I did reach out and they manually closed the trade in. So don't wait for more than 2 weeks for them to evaluate your device

I don't necessarily believe in lying, but if you tell them you have a video they usually just cave and give you the discount from what I've heard at least

Thanks. I got the 40mm LTE version. I paid about $95 after $150 trade in. If I return the watch I have to return the trade in I bought from eBay and then buy a watch 4 to net another $30 maybe.

Traded in two Watch 4s last time this Watch 7 deal surfaced.

They denied one of my trade ins (after like 3 weeks post shipping it) claiming it didn't turn on - to which I sent them photographic evidence of the watch working totally fine next to the shipping label. They backed down and gave me a "one time courtesy" credit for the trade-in

Photograph EVERYTHING, especially with the shipping label in view

Have the Watch Ultra available for $230 before tax after trade in credit, is it worth it?

After seeing all the comments here about the trade-in incidents I'm now skeptical to go ahead. Is this issue same for phone trade coz I just placed an order for zf4 trade in for zf6. Should I go ahead with this offer or should I cancel the phone trade in too? Someone with experience please guide. Thanks.

I would say for people to maybe wait a few days. Same price for the 44mm was only about 3 weeks ago with the same trade-in.
Jumped on that last deal and traded in my galaxy watch 4 44mm no problem and ended up paying $47 after all was said and done

I have an even worse story about repairing my phone's cracked screen through the Samsung repair center. When they replaced the screen, they also lost the metal ear speaker piece at the top, where you place your ear, leaving the inner parts exposed. I sent the phone back to have it fixed, but guess what? They returned it, saying nothing was wrong and that all the automated tests had passed. I sent my phone to them three times, and each time, they returned it with the same response, even after I explained the issue on phone. Finally, I took a picture of my phone with my wife's camera, printed it out with a big red circle around the missing ear piece, and included a note explaining the issue in the return package. I'm never going to use Samsung repair again. I can imagine their trade-in team must be the same.

You're always going to hear the few horror stories because the people who got successful trade-ins will never comment on here. Just photograph everything and you should be fine.

Or start a return right away and return it unopened. Never open the box until trade in decision has been made by Samsung.
