Of course this comes after I order the KEF deal. Meh. The matching center on these aren't great. Everyone recommends the legend series center for them but they're very pricey and hard to find.

Not for every situation, but a third r700 would make a pretty stellar center.

I thought about that too but I don't have a projector and my TV is too big to mount above a floor standing speaker. If you (anyone reading this) have a projector and an acoustic transparent screen, absolutely pick up three R700s and I'll just be jealous because that's a really hard setup to beat until you spend a lot more money.

Amazing deal. These are much better than all the recent kef deals. I still got kef q meta Concertos because I can't do floorstands but if I could these are easily what I'd get.

You don't really need to match the center since you'll be listening to music in stereo and don't need to match for multichannel movies/tv any decent 3-way design would work like svs-prime/pinnacle center. This is especially true if you are using a receiver/amp that does eq/room correction.

I held off on these during prime day because I have a feeling they will go cheaper. Historically Polk has done 40% and 50% off sales. I'm holding back

Another option is a single Polk R200 bookshelf for the center channel speaker. They're highly regarded and use the same 6.5 woofer and ring radiator tweeter. And same finish as the R700.

Ok, so a pair of these would be amazing. I'm running with a Sony GX800es currently and possibly upgrading to a DA7ES. Are either powerful enough/worthy to run these? I'm potentially upgrading from DCM KX12s and listen to mostly metal and punk in stereo.

I have 2 rooms set up with avrs, 1 has a matching center and 1 does not. I cannot hear a difference personally.
