350 nits screen. Not the 500 nits one. Please correct.

I was excited to see the 500 nits screen in a Costco deal …

Why is it great? For gaming, the 4060 is an entry level card. Further the i9 is wasted without better GPU. For work productivity you dont need the GPU or i9. The only thing great about this is its Costco return policy... But I think they changed their warranty on electronics a few years ago... not sure, you would need to verify.
If you want gaming, I have a feeling you can get something with a 4070 at the same price.

Just do a google search as there are a lot of reddit comparisons of 300 nit vs 500 nit screen brightness from users who have ACTUAL PERSONAL EXPERIENCES of the two. Even the 165hz vs 240hz refresh rates.

DO NOT TRUST all of the comments here as this is a bargain search site and A LOT of commenters, I am NOT saying all, do not even have first hand experience of what they are talking about. Also, there is some BIAS here as this site gets commissions from specific store sale being posted. It is also very easy for staff or personnel of small stores and especially ebay items, to thumbs up and vote down those that compete with their posts.

I used to run 7 monitors, but now it's just my laptop and one 50" TV as an external monitor. I've been trading for 25yrs, I've done the 7 screens before, was information overload for me. Can you explain what you mean by I will need a GPU with 3 outputs, I don't really understand. Right now my charting program (eSignal) will have a slight lag when I try to pull up information from a new stock symbol (like when I am clicking on it and it forces the program to load all of the available information for that symbol). My #1 goal is to try and get rid of that momentary lag so it pulls up all the information almost seamlessly. Not sure what I need to upgrade to do that
To get 7 monitors attached to a computer you need video outputs. Laptops usually only have 1 output from the GPU itself. To get more, you typically need to go through USB. I use a desktop computer which allows me to select my GPU and I picked one with 3 GPU outputs. All of them high performance. USB VGA you typically see for like $10-$20 have the lag you are complaining about. They are not high performance devices and suffer from low refresh rates. I know there are some that can give you better refresh rates and those typically cost more. You would need to research which ones have better refresh. Amazon reviews usually mention this issue.
If all you want is a one large screen then all laptops will give you at least one output that is high performance. Just note that those big screens also need to have a decent refresh rate as well. If you are running an old 60hz tv it will likely have some lag especially if you are running it at 4k resolution.
What you are describing however sounds more like a memory issue. If you are clicking on an app and its not being snappy, its likely swapping memory or something. Kind of like people who keep 1,000,000 tabs open on their browsers. They just run out of memory because each tab is like a new instance of the program. Your app, may be doing something similar. So I guess what you need to figure out is how much memory you are using? Several ways you can check that including the windows task manager. Check to see how much mem your app is using. But I do find that 16GB is a bare minimum for windows. 32GB helps a lot.
A less likely culprit might be your internet bandwidth but I doubt it. Stock software doesnt typically send tons of data on its own. But maybe your internet has high latency? Does it work well on just a single screen?

Would love to see the laptop that you reference with a 4070, i9, 32GB RAM for no more than $100 to this deal.
I bought the Dell g16 refurb(which was definitely new or like new) i9, 4070, 1tb and 16gb for 999 before any CB. Adding 16gb was only $100. Great machine, awesome keyboard.

I'm in the same boat. I just need a fast machine that's a little future proof with a graphic card that's good enough to run 2 external 2k monitor.
To begin with, 2k resolution generally refers to 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. Is that what you mean, or were you talking about QHD (2560x1440 or 2560x1600)?

When you say you want something fast enough to run these monitors, will you be playing modern video games on them?

If not, then practically any modern laptop with at least 2 video output ports can run those monitors without an issue at QHD. Productivity tasks and video playback at any common resolution are child's play for any current gen GPU, integrated or discrete.

You can even run two QHD screens with DP daisy chain using just a single display port output, provided your monitor supports it, or with a USB-C hub.

That said, this Legion has a very fast CPU, 3 video output ports(supporting at least 5 external monitors total with DP daisy chaining), 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. There are 2 SSD slots for easy upgradeability, the RAM can be upgraded, and the Wi-Fi card can be upgraded. So this definitely covers your needs. But if you prefer something slimmer, cheaper, or with longer battery life, there are other options.

I bought a 16" Acer Nitro with Zen4 7840HS, 32GB, 4070 115W TDP, 1TB HDD, Refurbished from Acer for $960 including tax in CA. That was in July.
Refurbished, lower build quality, lower CPU performance, better battery life, better gaming performance, 2 year warrantee.

I just bought a new Legion 7i for 1350 with the same specs, is that a good deal or was it a mishap? I do occasionally game like LoL or Hunt Showdown..

Description needs to be fixed. This is 350 nits, not 500.

This computer is nice.

However, the screen is a lackluster and will NOT allow the machine viewing in HDR. so, this is a solid disappointment and a big pass.
