I created a second account in my name. I tried my AMEX number again and it told me to get lost. I tried my wife's AMEX card (which also has the $25/$250 best buy merchant offer) and it worked.
So it's a double restriction: 1 apple card per best buy account, 1 apple card per card number.
I tried PayPal but it passes through the card information. The only other thing I can think of is using Google wallet virtual number with another account, but I'm not sure if Google pay behaves like PayPal to trigger the merchant offers.
Edit: scratch that, it cancelled the order. This might imply a household restriction too!
To be clear, you went to the store and bought 3x gift cards and they gave you three bb giftcards
I also just did the same. Grabbed 3 $100 Apple gift cards and went straight to the register. Told the rep to ring them up one by one and he absolutely had no problem with it. Each one automatically triggered a $15 Best Buy card. Yes the system knows me as I used my Best Buy credit card.
These 3 were in addition to one I bought from online this morning, followed by another physical card in person at the same store.
All the Apple gift cards redeemed with no issues, and I've already spent the 4 physical Best Buy gift cards The physical Apple gift cards at Best Buy look very secure. I honestly can't see how it can be tempered with and leave no evidence.
Edit: might be pointing out the obvious, but the first physical card I bought this morning, the rep got the Apple gift card for me as I couldn't find them. He grabbed one of those variable value cards and entered $100 when he rang it up. Of course that did not trigger the $15 Best Buy card. I told him to void it and grab the $100 one.

Thx. What happens when the charge settles and will show a PP* or similar remark? Amex offer shows it's only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant. I guess you'll see it in 1-2 days.

Based on people's previous posts and anecdotal experiences, the offer will hopefully still go through. I'll know in a few days and will confirm.
You used the SKU for the physical card for Apple $100 gift Card? I will go in tomorrow and try
let me know specifically what you did in the store. Great idea if it works needs its own post if so!
Yes, as the other guy said, I showed cashier the BB webpage of $100 Apple gift card with $15 BB GC. They went to grab same $100 GC and it automatically triggered the promotion. They first tried to check out 2x $100 once but still only one $15, So they did three times for each $100.
Unlike online order (I tried different online accounts with no luck), you don't have to give them your phone # or BB account, so BB has no way to know how many you have bought before. I hope this helps those who are close to BB local store. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply in the detail. This is great news. I hope the promotion is still going on on Sunday. I will be biking up there first thing in the morning.
Can't beat getting essentially 20% off … I always have a few things to buy at Best Buy where I spend all the gift cards within a couple months.

They will know if you use your Best Buy credit card if you want the 5% off if it's still going on tomorrow, I'll give it a try and repost here unless somebody has experience using the Best Buy credit card in store for these physical Apple gift cards that are 15% off.

Did you go in and give them the physicalSKU: 6578637 ?? Can you share more detail about how you did it inside the store?
They only have the $50 one on the rack. I take two and go to check out. The lady scanned one without any issue. When she scanned the other, the system give her an alert that each person can only buy one. I asked her how can I get $100 and get the $15 free giftcard if I am only allowed to buy one. She said no way unless you can find the $100 card.
