Where I am, the hard water deposits build up inside the machine on the nozzles and all over inside. Grunge builds up around the door seals on my newer machine too. I find the acidic cleaners help remove some of the grunge and most of the hard water deposits.

Whether this product does that, I'm not sure.

It does. Citric acid is a primary ingredient. It bind to and removes calcium deposits.

Got this for $1.25 last time and just picked up another. We ran it through our dishwasher and it immediately looked way cleaner and cleaned much better. Recommended for sure.

I used this, but apparently my water doesn't get hot enough, even on the sanitize cycle, to melt the wax plug. Had to scrape out the wax then put it in the dishwasher. Seemed to clean the dishwasher though, looked cleaner but YMMV

These citrus cleaners work great. You can't see the build up of food grease that build up around the screen filter. Yes, there is a filter on almost all dishwashers. Look up your model and check out a You Tube video on how to clean it. Then use this to get it out the residual. Heck, it's $1.75 and worth every penny.

If your dishwasher can't melt wax you need a new dishwasher.

What might help is to run the hot water from your sink for several minutes. If you don't want to waste that hot water, either use that time to wash items that you can't put in the dishwasher, like pots, pans, or knives or use the hot water to mop the kitchen floor.

Lol, while I may need a new dishwasher, I partly blame it on my water heater too. I've had to turn it down a little because I have young kids who love to turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink.

Yeah, but I think the dishwasher should be able to heat the water too. At least mine does because I know it can't possibly be getting as hot as it does with just the hot water going into it. I keep my tankless as 120 degrees too.... so not to hot either.
