Proprietary case, mobo, and PSU. Everything else can be swapped if wanted.
What difference does it make? Whether it's done or not out of the box, just update the BIOS to the latest (which will likely need to be done anyways). Running it for 30 minutes isn't going to kill the CPU. It's my understanding that over-clocking or over-volting the CPU for a long time is what causes the instability and this "F" chip isn't unlocked.

How safe is this given the recent issues with Intel chips? Do you think these would ship with an updated BIOS that includes the microcode updates or would that have to be manually done?

Before this was posted I bought this same computer with a 2 TB SSD and the 14th Gen Core i9 (with the voltage flaw). Since I'm a longtime Dell customer I don't qualify for the email's extra 10% off, but I did get 10% in other ways.

This processor *is* one of those that have the voltage damage problems, but as long as the BIOS is updated, you will be OK. It's likely the BIOS has already been updated before you get it.

It's very likely the $800 off discount is due to this processor's reputation as a black sheep.

It will likely have the update. Even if it doesn't, Alienware or Intel will replace it if something goes wrong.

If I wait for Black Friday, the Costco i9 with the 4070 Super card but with a 2tb SSD will be 500 less… so that's still the better deal, right?
