To be clear, those $2 Ebooks are great deals and I will continue to buy when titles that interest me go on sale, but I wish they at least provide an option to download higher res ebooks at the cost of more storage.
Also, some of those ebooks are optimized for Kindle (has flexible layout, you can resize text, and text flows around as per your device screen resolution) while some are not (they have a fixed layout and you'd need to zoom-in to read each section). The preference between them is personal, but for DK illustrated books (unlike text-heavy books), I generally prefer the fixed-layout version (latter) because they are simply a digital copy of whatever is published on the physical copies. You'd need a large display to read them comfortably though - like a high res tablet or on a monitor. Kindle-optimized versions mess up the layout and spoil the reading experience IMO.
Before you buy a Kindle version, read the sample and see if the resolution is adequate for your reading device and you like the visual experience.

I also found quite a few of these irresistible, especially at the sale price.
