ASUS already has cooling problems with their full sized desktops (poor thermals) so I'd guess they may have issues with this too. The 13700f can boost to over 200w so it may get pretty toasty. Just to give you an idea, my NZXT H1 has a 12700k in it and it reaches over 80 degrees when it boosts. Good specs and decent price though considering it's an SFF which command a premium.

You're definitely not building this for less.

Edit: this should be the mobo in it unless I'm missing something: https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboa...ifi-model/

No overlocking on B760 boards but I wouldn't recommend it either way because it'll likely thermal throttle.

Unfortunately, it's not that motherboard. It uses some odd one-off motherboard that has SO-DIMM slots.

You are correct, despite the water cooling, in testing the CPU thermal throttled.

So far 4060Ti for $900 @costco seems a better buy, as I didn't see much yet.

4060ti is pretty much the 3060ti, shouldn't even be your option in 2024/2025.

For that matter, these nVidia 40x0 chips came out over 2 years ago now. nVidia has been sitting on the 50x0 release and just milking the old stuff, because they don't have any competition on the high end.

Also, looking at reviews it's likely this 13700F is NOT water cooled.

It appears that this variant is air cooled. Which doesn't seem to make any difference since even the liquid cooled ones suffer from thermal throttling. Still more than enough cpu performance not to hold back that 4070 in gaming.

Did you even bother reading the review you posted? It's for the 13900KF variant which yes is liquid cooled. This OP is not that unit.

Read a few more reviews for the differences.

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...-gaming-pc

"Mid-tier models bump the CPU to a Core i7-13700F with either an RTX 3060 Ti ($1,699.99) or an RTX 4070 ($1,899.99). Note all "F" CPU models are air cooled; liquid-cooled models with more powerful "KF" CPUs start at $2,199.99 with a Core i7-13700KF and an RTX 4070. The $2,499.99 model we reviewed upgrades the CPU to a Core i9-13900KF"

Avoid B&H unless you are 1000% sure you will keep the computer. You cannot return it once you open it.

Personally, I'm avoiding any and all 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs due to quality control issues on those editions and Intel's crappy response to early complaints about those variants.
Google up "gamers nexus intel 13 and 14th gen"
