Inexpensive storage. Can't really complain about that. Just don't use for streaming off the stick.

Based on my calculation with sales tax (10.6%) and dividing a GB by 1024^3 and also assuming 98.5% of marketed capacity, this works out to 4.2 cents per formatted (usable) GB. I realize those drives are not the fastest in the world (but at $5 bucks why would you expect them to be), but are they reliable enough for redundant backups of family photos / videos? This question also includes if the write speed is decent enough for the backups to be put on them in the first place.
Trying to offload of Google One subscription and reduce reliance on the cloud.
Any ideas?

Also side note, if you buy 3 or more the price drops to $13.49 (plus tax). So in my case ordering 6 of them totals out (after tax) to be $29.81
6 of them at 128GB may sound like overkill but the intent is to have 3 sets of redundant backup each of them being around 230-ish GB.

I have 64GB version of this - 2 actually. After a couple of years the write speed of one dropped to something ridiculously low.

So flash memory melts before your eyes ...

Yeah... it should be fine for that type of temporary use.
I learned the hard way not to buy cheap drives for important data.

I would NOT trust important data to these cheap drives. There are better solutions for that.
