I got into 3D printing and just got a few PETG rolls from Slickdeals so now I need to dehydrate my filament more to get better prints! Was looking around and found this BF deal for a unit that has 4000+ reviews

- Can dry the filament
- Can serve the filament right out of the box as well (there's a outlet for filament)
- Holds 2 filaments if I get 2 A1/A1 Mini.

[amazon.com]

Most dehydrators only do 2 filaments, I saw one with 4 but at $120 so I figured I'll get one of these for $40 first and allows me to move things around more.

I thought about using regular food dehydrators as someone said they hacked something together but I wanted more convenience and this can serve the filament right out of the unit so it's a nice price for something already made.

Maybe hack some pieces together to pump air into my P1S AMS.... idk we'll see!

I own this and have been very disappointed with the performance. It barely gets warm and there's really no fan to move air around. I recently found this great review and analysis and went with the Creality Space Pi which has been working oh so much better:

The extra $22 here gets you an effective filament dryer. I threw-out the Comgrow a few weeks ago.

I also have this one and it moves plenty of air and gets up to the set temps, your unit might be defective.
There are certainly better units for more money, but it works fine.

Glad it's working for you and you're right, maybe I had a dud. I could hear the gentle growl of a fan, but maybe the bearings were shot, as there was little/no air movement. Also, of note, the specs on the Comgrow max out at 50 degrees C, which is ok if you're sticking to PLA, but any higher strength filaments like ABS, ASA, PETG, need 60 degrees or higher. I think most folks will quickly outgrow the limitations of the Comgrow and should consider the extra $22 for the Creality Space Pi. Which ever way you go, also consider filament vacuum storage bags, so your nice toasty dry spool doesn't immediately begin absorbing moisture when it comes out of the dryer. I recently dried 40 spools in my library and used these Elegoo bags and desicant to keep my filament dry long term: https://a.co/d/gGIMYHF

Thanks for this! The Amazon reviews were positive and price was low so I got it. I didn't open it yet ! My room is pretty warm and humidity is 40% so I may not even need it?
