I have an echo backpack blower. Poulan is a cheap brand.
Battery equipment can't compare to backpack blowers.

Nothing says a beautiful garden like the smell of barely burnt hydrocarbons. Nothing says it's summer again like a cheap Poulan motor that needs a new carburetor.

475 cfm is weak.

Love my Echo gas blower. Sorry for some things there just isn't an electric equivalent on market yet - I tried and they run out of juice way too quickly or aren't powerful enough. This one however seems underpowered.

Poulan is the entry-level brand owned by Husqvarna (which also owns Redmax). This unit performs just a bit lower than the entry-level Echo PB-580 blower, which runs about $350-400. This unit is a good price/performance ratio, but as other posters mentioned, you can't really expect longevity/durability out of this brand.

Battery blowers have their merits (I use a battery handheld to blow out grass clippings in the garage without fear of CO poisoning), but don't have the performance or comparable runtimes to the elite class gasoline blowers yet (Echo PB-9010, STIHL BR800, Redmax EBZ9000). The link above is useful for comparing units side-by-side in terms of specs.

Gas blower purchases are banned in California. Lowes Kobalt battery powered blowers is what I use.

Running into the same issue!

Have the amazing EGO Blower with 670 CFM (at max) and it's just not cutting - in power or battery life (and I have a few batteries too with their snow blower). When you have three dozen large trees surrounding your property with a 1/2 acre to clean up it's not the right tool for the job. Unfortunately, I thought battery powered with a high CFM would be more than fine ...lesson learned it's for clearing basic jobs and small areas, not when you have leaves enough to fill 30+ bags a season.

Been eyeing the Husqvarna 570BTS but don't know much about gas powered leaf blowers. is CFM or MPH more important?

I know you're thinking "what the F brand is this" and questioning if its worth the purchase because of that. I purchased this same blower about 5-years ago and it has been phenomenal. Sure, there are battery powered blowers with higher CFM ratings, but the battery will never last you long enough to do a normal sized yard. I've had echo, stihl, ryobi, you name it ... they've all leaked oil. I'm on year 6 and its still going strong. For $150, if it died tomorrow, I certainly got my money's worth.

2 strokes run great. I have never had a good 4 stroke blower.

I have a handheld poulan pro BVM200VS 25cc 430 cfm / 200 mph thats at least 15 years old. Had to change out the carb once bc it sat unused for easily a decade. With a new carb, spark plug, and new fuel lines it started right up. 2 stroke engines are super easy to maintain and will last a lifetime with minimal care. I'm sooo tempted to get a backpack blower bc it gets tiring holding a handheld blower.

I say worth it. I have been wanting one for about 3 years after being annoyed by my hand held blower. That is a very reasonable price.

CC's is what I'd pay attention to. CFM/MPH is like sticker gas mileage. Not real world reliable numbers. Sometimes not even close. 48cc isn't bad for the money. The bigger commerical backpacks are upper 70's CC. Bigger engine = more power = more "mph/cfm". However, they are usually $500+.

My neighbor put his Stihl 2-stroke out for garbage pick up. I asked him if I could have it he said good luck getting it started. I took it home and did exactly this and it fired right up lol. I tend to bring it out when he's using his electric ego and finish about an hour earlier than him with a similary sized yard.

edit: we both have 2 big leaf maples each. his struggles to move tu when they are wet.

CFM is more important when it comes to moving leaves. MPH is what sells to the general public.

It sounds like we have similar properties and gas is the only way. Battery powered tool doesn't make sense when they will die in a year or two and you will need to spend $100 to replace over and over. Corded electric would work for smaller properties.

To save you some time here are some of my research and experience cliff notes:
-the tool I ended up wanting was an echo 770T. Use those specs to compare other models and brands.
- The comparable STIHL models (BR600+700) use a 4 stroke mix. You still have to mix gas and oil.
-husqvarna specs are measured differently than echo and STIHL so they will be somewhat lower in operating conditions than advertised.
- I ended up with a used STIHL BR600 only because money was tight but should still serve my needs for years.
- I look for the oil bottle size that is matched for 1 or 2 gallons so mixing in a 1 or 2 gallon gas container is quick and easy.
- YouTube is your friend in learning how to maintain. A lot of maintenance is really easy.
- Also a note about buying used, apparently it's a thing people steal and resell lawn equipment from lawn service businesses.

Temu has a 80cc for around 100 with coupon. I got one, works well. For 50 cc I'd stick with a handheld
