Here is the combo for $300. The OP is saying buy 2x $100 gift card and save $20. I assume you need to buy that first to apply to the combo. It is definitely convoluted.
Budget, freeing up money for a better GPU for gaming. I paid $129 shipped for a new 5700x3d, $35 for DDR4 3600mhz ram (new), and $60 for an open box Asrock Phantom Gaming B550/w Wi-Fi AM4 motherboard. That savings is the difference between a 6600 and 6700 or 6700 and 6800 GPU, and the 5700x3d can more than hold its own and won't bottleneck those cards.
the 5700x3d would perform better in games at 2k res. and the 6750xt is a little quicker than the 4060. But that is a good price for a prebuilt and itll run fortnite well
How would this prebuilt compare to the Walmart one I posted?
FYI 5700X3D are now selling for ~$90 on aliexpress with whatever coupons are being run for black friday. I've seen some sellers as low as $75 but those seem sus.
So I recently got the other deal with the Ryzen 7 5700X (no 3D), free 32gb ram, a b550 mobo, and a cooler for $240osh. How does 3D cpu compare? Is it a huge upgrade that it's worth a return and rebuy with this chip?
It's a giant upgrade. Look up gaming benchmarks on YouTube. Gamers nexus did a really good one where they show a lot of other CPUs in comparison

Not familiar with that…like I said, I haven't built in 20 years. I know I can still build them, I just don't know what is good and what exactly I need anymore
Hi there. So I would recommend watching YouTubers like Linus Tech Tips or Gamers Nexus or Jayztwocents when they do reviews of CPUs or GPUs. Because you will see benchmarks of different processors so you can get a sense of scale of what's better.
In the case of the 5700x3d it's consistently in the upper tier of gaming CPUs out there competing with CPUs that are double the price. And significantly faster than the non X3D
I was in the same boat as you a few years ago. I hadn't built a computer since the pentium 4 or amd athlon xp days and watching Linus tech tips got me motivated to want to build a computer.
I snagged the deal when they had the T-Force RAM bundled with it last week, and bought 2x $100 Newegg gift cards for $180. Total came to $353 after taxes. CPU has integrated graphics. Buy a $60 case, $90 power supply, and however much on a CPU cooler (this CPU doesn't come with one) and you've got a desktop for ~$500, then buy a GPU - I bought a used EVGA 3080 off eBay for $390....
Seems good for a budget gaming build, what's wrong with it?
Don't listen to the eager upgrade beaver.
It's a great set imo. Cpu alone is going for 180 rn. It would be a high-mid tier gaming setup. You'd need a decent gpu to push the 5700x3d but that goes for any decent gaming rig.
If you're just looking for an upgrade on AM4 you can get the 5700X3D right now on Ali from SZCPU for $133 before tax. I just received mine ($138 w/ tax for me) and I've tested it working perfectly. Took about two weeks from ordering to arrive to the US.

And make sure it's from SZCPU. There's a new vendor that's using their logo on their pictures.

Makes me regret buying for $130 on aliexpress!
