We have a bunch of APC ones. Eventually the batteries all go to shit. APC branded replacements are insanely expensive, if they even sell it.

We have found that this company (below link) usually has something that is compatible. And the battery lifespan tends to last much much longer than the original one and are very high quality. We use them for CyberPower ones as well
Whatever you do, don't buy Mighty Max batteries from Amazon, they truly don't last

Replacement and Recycling of Batteries:
This product is specified as "non-user replaceable battery) but this is not true. It's just that it's not super cost-effective combined with only "1-year" warranty on battery replacements vs. 3-year warranty on new units. So Schneider Electric (the manufacturer) recommends trashing the whole unit.

HOWEVER, you can easily find battery replacements online and some are quite good.
Cost is $20-30 for a battery. I consider that cost effective.

Replacement/installation requires a long, Philips-head screwdriver. That's all.

Make sure you have a long, about 10 inches phillips screwdriver. The screws are all the way down a really small hole at bottom of unit. The screwdriver has to be really thin also to get to the screw. I had to go and buy one.

I got this a while back and the battery lasted maybe 2 years.
I replaced the battery with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPCUXO/
it's a direct fit. the oem battery is just an 6Ah battery with F1 terminals.

In for 1, with 2.5% paypal and 5% Visa CB. We have 4 UPS's in use: two 1500 watt CyberPower for PC's, and two small APC for low power devices, including my CPAP machine, and need one more for some other low power items. Fortunately we very rarely have outages much longer than 1 minute here.

The APC Back-UPS BVN650M1 does not have a USB data connection for communication with a NAS or PC. The USB port on this model is a charging-only port designed for devices like smartphones and tablets, providing 2.1A output. It cannot be used for monitoring or graceful shutdown of connected devices via software like PowerChute or integration with a NAS

My power went out last week, thinking one of these could be used to keep the internet cable modem and router connected. Nope, Comcast was down too. Completely useless for me. I get it, others may have better use cases, if you're in a power loss prone area or inconsistent power area like India.

I find it quite suspect that they do not post Ah for these "compatible" batteries they sell on your website.

I've used this size to keep my router and modem running during outages before and they worked great for a couple of hours. Grabbing a few more. Also perfect for charging phones and other small devices.
If you're grabbing a couple of these, why not go with something like an ecoflow or Bluetti That can handle far more devices for just a little bit more money than buying a few of these?

Consider upgrading to an overall better battery system. While it's not anywhere near the same class, I picked up a Bluetti AC180p for $450 And I'm using it as a UPS for my my home network equipment in addition to my furnace and refrigerator. It also has an expected lifespan of over 12 years of actual battery usage down to 80%. It may be a bit Overkill for your needs, but has far more uses and can support solar input during extended outages.

They provide more literature than APC does for its own batteries

Here is an example replacement battery for the APC BGE70/90M (not the one from this deal, this is for those smaller white APC units which are used for small networking equipment)

Appreciate your response, however if they really did provide more information than APC, they would list the Ah for this battery instead of a bunch of words and calling it "compatible" when it is 5Ah and not 6Ah like the original battery from APC for this model. This is shady marketing in my opinion.

There is nothing shady at all. I don't want to sound insulting, but I don't think you are reading things properly and I am having difficulty following you.

The one I linked to is for the BGE70/90M, just as an example. The white models meant for networking equipment. The OEM battery per APC is 6aH, the UPSBatteryCenter replacement is actually 6.5AH.

Again I don't want to sound insulting, but I don't think you are reading things properly, or you aren't actually scrolling through the product pages for the specs. It clearly states the specs for all to see if you click on the battery you want. If you have any questions, shoot them an email and they will confirm whatever specs you need clarification on. They are extremely helpful and based in New York.

Do these produce true sine wave, or diode driven stepped synthetic sine?

I've only seen comments of running small devices like their router/modem, so i can't use this to run my desktop for an hour or more?
