Put that $200+ in a mutual fund. You'll be much happier. These glasses are the poster child for irresponsible consumerism. Embarrassingly small number of use cases and they make you look like the kind of person who would spend $200 on overpriced, essentially useless technocrap.
You are on wrong website my friend... this logic will apply to everything here

Just saw a commercial about these for the first time, during Sunday Night Football. Never knew they existed. Are they actually useful, or just a first iteration gimmick?
Well, they are highly useful for Meta to train their models with your data. Obviously everything this records is sent back to them to make their ad machine more "relevant" to you. Meta exists to collect your data and sell ads and in that context this device is highly useful. Outside of that, it is essentially a gimmick.

US laws state that it's completely legal to record people in public and you have no right to have privacy in public
I don't think Meta put that recording notification just for public, these could easily be taken into many private/semi private venues. Good on them to at least let people be aware they are being recorded so they can choose to go elsewhere. Unfortunately these would be a magnet for creeps as well as good people.

What is the purpose of these? Do you livestream? Is to to take and post video on FB? I just don't get it.
It's not possible to livestream. You can record a video up to 3 mins. When recording, a notification led will be on on your glasses. Correct me if I am wrong.

What the fark. You don't expect privacy in public. You are nothing but stopping the technology advancing. YOU DONT HAVE PRIVACY IN PUBLIC AND ANYONE CAN FILM YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. Speak with a lawyer.
What is legal and what is creepy are two different things.

My friend got it they are literally wired when you start recording. It's so obvious and looks creepy
Temu will come out with some Myrtle beach spring break glasses soon. They won't look creepy. The guy using them will.

these glasses are a joke.. dont get conned there's no use case.. and they are thick... like birth control glasses thick, so they don't look good

and you wont be secretly recording everyone, bc it's obvious there are cameras in the frame. and it lights up when recording.
No use case? Aren't they like a gopro except something you don't need to wear a helmet or a chest strap to use?

Do the people who think these are creepy have a problem walking through a grocery store with 100s of cameras watching them?

Purchased online to pick up in store. $90 was deducted from sale price (verified price paid through my debit account). Picked up glasses from store. Got the $90 e-gift card via email in a few minutes. Spent said gc immediately. Adding: purchased the pair priced for $239, but it was way less than that as it turned out. 😅
You will be charged the extra $90. Target breaks it down so you are charged $90 for the gift card and given a $90 discount. That way when people try to return the glasses and keep the gift card they get $90 less.
