Ploutone is having their Black Friday sale now on Cort guitars. For those who don't know, Cort makes guitars for many of the big name brands (Ibanez, Fender, Schecter, etc.), but their name in and of itself is a little lesser known. This means you can usually get a super high-quality and high-spec guitar for a screaming deal compared to the name brands.

Anyway, Ploutone is a boutique guitar shop that sells these guitars. I've talked with their owner Brett on the phone and he is a great guy and super helpful. I was debating between the KX700 Evertune and X700 Duality II at the beginning of the year, and he helped me lean toward the Duality. I couldn't be more pleased -- I reach for it over many of my other HH configured guitars (Jackson Pro, Schecter, EVH, etc.). The neck is amazing for me.

I know that the KX700 Evertune [ploutone.com] is super popular as well, although I haven't played this one.

Deleted my unnecessary and snobby snark about the Cort brand. Fact is Cort has made quality guitars for many years.

I have a Cort KX500 that sounds and plays great. I grab it over my Ibanez, Schecter, EVH, and never thought I would. Would love to try one of their higher end models

Anyone here have the KX700 evertune? I know there was a deal on it here earlier in the year. I'm super tempted to pick one up and would love to hear anyone's opinion.

I have it and it is great. The only negative is it is pretty heavy. I think mine is right around 9 lbs. Otherwise sounds great, the Evertune works well, and all the quality is spot on.

I bought the bstock one that was available previously. This thing has replaced my trusty jem as the main gigging axe. The evertune is worth 300 to buy and 300 to have installed by a licensed luthier, so there's a ton of value in the parts. Cort makes guitars for tons of the largest manufacturers and it shows. Love the Seymour Duncan's, the neck jazz is very nice for clean melodic stuff, and the bridge Nazgûl is good for classic rock on clean and clear crunch under distortion. I will say yes it is a little on the heavier side but because it's well built and it's very pointy and thus aggressive looking but also feeling. Also note that there are no markings on the face of the fret board whatsoever. Makes it look clean but could also be tough to spot things if you're a beginner. I'm used to playing on tree of life from Ibanez so it was never a problem. This guitar honestly has been a pleasant surprise and with evertune stability and quality wood/component/pickup combination makes it a worthy instrument for jamming. If you like the looks, neck scale length and width, and want to have your life changed by an evertune, buy it now!

Cort makes great stuff. But resale is insanely bad. They make stuff for everyone. Quality stuff just hard to sell later.

I have the Duality as well. Good guitar. Paid $750 new, so these Ploutone 'sale' prices look sketchy to me.

I just ordered one lol. I totally don't need it, but I don't have an evertune yet so that's how I'm justifying it!

I have a cort acoustic that I love. It's beautiful. Nice binding and inlays. And it sounds wonderful. It's not my only acoustic, been the first one I reach for for over 20 years.
