Damn if all my paddles weren't from AliExpress this seems like a solid deal for a top/mid paddle

Just go for an original model from a standalone brand. Many of them won't be approved for tournament use, but 99% of players are just playing rec and won't care.

I use a Jikego JK015 and absolutely love it. Kevlar carbon weave paddle face and 16mm thickness with narrow honeycomb core. It's very much a control paddle and doesn't offer a ton of power. Produces a ton of spin.

Juciao is another popular AE brand with a few thermoformed models, many of which also have T700 raw carbon paddle faces.

Older but great paddle and price.

Moved to the Perseus but the difference is minor.

Imo you would probably only notice the differences if you're a higher rated player.

The difference is not minor. I'm a high level player and this paddle is significantly heavy for most players. There's a lot of better paddles now for this price range that are more updated in terms of paddle technology.

Joola Perseus knockoff can be bought on Ali express for $90 or you can you buy most brands during Black Friday like Spartus Olympus, volair Mach series. Other top paddles are 200+

Disagree, I've extensively played with both.
Static weight difference average is around .4oz, swing weight favors this.
Perseus has slightly more power & spin.
This has slightly better with touch.
Again all these differences are minor/slight imo.
Knockoff comparisons is not a fair one imo.

I bought a Perseus knock off for $41 .. I didn't use the real one. I can't use it in competition etc but how likely am I going to compete? I find it handles well

No one really makes a real comparison video or if they do it's very judgmental towards choosing the absolute trash and cheap paddle. Most social media people who are giving reviews are the ones sponsored by brands so they're not gonna go into it with an open mindset.

The cheap paddles have worked well for me and I can compete. The pro pickleball players go through multiple paddles every few months so I don't mind buying cheaper than using them if they break oh well.

(yes it is the $127 model, but you can customize it for a few bucks)

How's $20 back work?

EDIT: Found it ... it's an offer in your online amex dashboard
