So I was helping my uncle set up security cameras for his warehouse which needed internet, and found this great deal on internet!

T-mobile has a hidden plan for 30GB data a month data plan (you get your own sim and need your own device).

I got a cellular modem for $40: https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/lte-modems/lm1200/ [netgear.com] and was able to use it with T-mobile's provided sim card.

Call in or use their online chat to inquire about the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB plan (SOC: MI30TE or MI30TI)". It is $15/mo but you get a $5/mo discount by using autopay.

If you can't repro then you suck. This also provides you with a phone number for the data account and you get access to t-mobile tuesdays despite it only being a data plan

Thanks for sharing. I took advantage of this and found some important information that might apply to somebody else.
  1. This is a post-paid plan, and not a pre-paid plan.
  2. If you're on a pre-paid plan, and want to switch, it's probably going to be a lot of additional time on the phone.
  3. You can have a maximum of 20 of these plans on your account.
  4. Providing the SOC code, "MI30TI" helps dramatically speed up the process. Just go ahead and provide it as soon as you talk to somebody, and insist only on this plan.
  5. If you're activating more than one line, you're most likely going to have to do one at a time. Each time they'll send you a code to your email.
  6. They are shipping my sims to me via UPS, I believe. It's supposed to take 1-2 business days.
  7. There's a $10 line activation, but the guy I spoke to waived it for me.
  8. I was able to activate 6 lines while I was on the phone with him before he ran into an issue. I'm supposed to call back after I get all 6 sims and then get more.
You should have ask the buy 1 get $5 off on the 2nd line since you added 6 lines. Should save you $15/month.

Great deal, but not worth the hard credit hit. The agent over the phone couldn't approve without a hard credit pull🫠

Are you using your credit for any large purchases such as a home this year? Probably not. You can afford the credit hit it'll go away in a year, it's not a big deal.
Totally worth having cellular internet service for $10 versus not using your credit at all.

Does anyone know if this can be used for data in cars that support it such as BMWs etc ?

Some one in an earlier comment successfully used it for their Jaguar.

This sounds like the $10 business tablet plan. I've been using it for a year now and use Google Voice for calls and text.
Does T-Mobile have any issues with you using the data plan in a phone? Because the language associated with the plan (which was in the other SD thread about the business tablet plan) is, "For tablets only. Not compatible with hot spots, data sticks, Chromebooks, laptops, netbooks, or other data-first devices." I've wanted to get the business tablet plan, but am hesitant to do so for fear that T-Mobile will shut the plan down/throttle to 3G speeds/some other consequence.

Any tips activating this on a tablet? I'm specifically thinking the new iPad mini. My child in elementary school uses an ACC device for communication and the 10 inch iPad is a big bit for her to carry around when we go out. She's a big music lover and it would be great to avoid configuring wifi everywhere we go.
The new cellular iPad mini is $600 on Amazon right now (the $600 option is on backorder, other available options are $620) and I think $650 regular price at Amazon and elsewhere. There are definitely cheaper LTE or 5G tablet options out there for something that plays music and runs apps. Or you could get an old(er) iPhone and have her use a small-screen device.

In theory this is not a tablet plan, it's a mobile internet plan, although it sounds like a lot of people are using it in tablets based on comments in this thread. If you want a different unlimited high-speed tablet option from T-Mobile, consider the Magenta Business Tablet plan (which some people in this thread are posting that they are using), SOC code ZB10HSTI, which is also $10/month for unlimited high speed on-device data (deprioritized after 50 GB)...you need a business account which can be opened with a SSN as a sole proprietor, or if you have an EIN you can open a business account.

What is your use case for 6 mobile internet lines?

Does the $5 off the second line stack with the autopay discount?

This plan works perfect with gl-inet mudi portable 5g router. Been using this setup since last year. Great for road trip and working remote outdoor where I don't want to use public WiFi.
I see on Amazon a 4G router. Do you have a link to the 5G version?

Edit: Or were you referring to the bandwidth for the wifi from the router?

Edit 2: I saw your response to another question in this thread, I see you had meant LTE. How much battery life do you get from this device? And is there a way to switch this device on and off so that the battery doesn't continue to drain?

I bought this. I was on Google Fi and had an extra data only sim for my laptop 5G. I just switched to visible plus, so I ordered this for my laptop. We'll see if there is any catch. Supposedly $10 / Mo with autopay, and they waived the activation fee. Maybe some taxes and fees? Anyone know how much? I don't know how long I'll keep it, but it might be nice to not have to rely on the 10 Mbps hotspot on visible.
If you got the plan with SOC code that ends with TI, that is tax inclusive. I guess the catch for you might be that after 30 GB data is used, the data speeds are significantly throttled. At which point, if that ever happens, you can use Visible+ plan tethering.

Just did this. The rep was hesitant to activate a SIM after I gave her my S24 Ultra IMEI, but as someone mentioned, I told the rep that I have a hotspot on order. That did the trick. Rep also waived all the fees without me asking.

I just said I heard there is a hotspot plan for 30gb for $10/mo after autopay. They said yes and checked my phone IMEI and said they can set it up via Esim and it worked in minutes. Using Google voice with it is great.

Account page shows "Basic Mobile Internet w/ 30 GB high-speed data - taxes included".When we were working on the T-Mobile rep's tablet, the text for the deal was showing 40GB, and he thought that the limit enforced would be 40GB to align with Magenta MAX, since all my voice lines are on that plan. We'll see. I'll have to conduct a test to use the entire allotment and see what happens. Either it's 40 or it's 30, either way I'm satisfied with the deal.
Which mobile hotspot are you using?
