The newest Mini 7th Gen for $399 was much better deal because has 8GB RAM and A17 Pro chip and 128GB base storage and compatible with Apple Intelligence, which are all great upgrades for only $100 more (when it was at that price earlier this month, see link below) and the end of life will be 3-4 years later than this older version. Hope the $399 price returns some time soon.

What it needs to be and what it will be in the next few months are probably different.

I went ahead and bought it. If I can find a better price, or a good deal on the mini 7, I can return this.
