I know this is slickdeals, but maybe what enables Nintendo to make such great games is because they keep their prices high which leads to more revenue and ROI to invest in the time, talent, and effort it takes to make consistently quality product. Like I get that so many other games get discounted so cheaply, but then there's so many complaints about pay-to-play or bugs or studios shutting down.

With Nintendo you get what you pay for. These games will never be $5 or $10 or whatever ridiculously low price you're hoping for. This game costs as much as a meal for two at Chipotle and you'll get dozens of hours out of it and then can probably sell it for at least 1/2 the cost if you want.

Probably because Nintendo wouldn't make it if they had to sell it for $10?

There's a lot of cheaper gaming experiences out there.

You have 1100 hours in this game (!) - wouldn't you say you've gotten your money's worth?

I get that we live in an era of "free" and cheap entertainment, but I don't mind supporting a company / developer that values quality and long-term investments in their projects while ignoring the race-to-the-bottom that the rest of the industry is caught up in

Nothing like Nintendo's greed, tops even mine

This game will be FIVE years old in a few months, LOL

Nintendo will milk these old titles and a system with 8 year old hardware until they cant any longer

On one side yes, but on the other, games retain their value and are easier to sell. Just look at Mario and rabbits which went on sale almost right away, it's like there is no point buying a game full price nowadays besides Nintendo.

Nintendo makes these great games, continues to sell them at high prices, and refuses to consistently create DLC content for them. I'll never understand their model.

Good game, simple graphics and quite a number of tasks to keep one busy. But after so many years $35 still feels pricey for this old game. It should be around $20 by now. But if you are someone who still doesn't have it, it's good to have this in your list.

why cant it cost $10 and I can sell it for $5 after I finished it instead of $35?

and I have like 1100 hours in this game, its sale is greatly boosted by covid, no way the next game can sell 30m copies, the game is mediocre at best and lacks so many QoL feature especially online

I made some friends and had fun with it, even compeleted the whole collection of AC Amiibo cards which is like 448 cards and sold them, the game is fun for kids and casual gamers but if you game a lot this game just falls short

$19.99 for this game during Black Friday wouldn't be some insane price point. That's what I'd expect it to be by now. Same with any other game that's 5+ years old.
Nobody is asking for it to be $9.99.

I agree it wouldn't be an insane price point. But to expect it with any certainty, from Nintendo, while they're riding high on their success, I don't think is realistic

They used $10 as the example because that's the example the person they're replying to used

I can only assume you're doing a bit, and agree with you that it's downright nuts people expect AC for free despite the fact people have been pouring thousands of hours into each game in the series for over twenty years.
