Unboxing & setup
Very well packaged and everything was snug. Separate quick start guides for the camera and solar panel setup with clear instructions. It suggests charging the camera for 7 hours with a 5v/1A charger before starting to setup, but I used a 5V/2A and started the setup after about an hour. It took me about 5 minutes to download the tapo app, log in w/ tp-link account (since I already have some kasa plugs) and add the camera with charge showing 99%. The tapo app also picked up my kasa devices seamlessly and is able to control them. The app continues to guide you through the mounting process as well, but I skipped that and will do later.
Picture quality
Very crisp compared to my wyze v3s. Took a couple of photos and then a 10 second video. Both saved to my phone automatically without a sd card installed in the camera. Checking the resolution in my gallery - both photos and video are 2304x1296 - so this is indeed more than a 1080p - and depending on your definition of 2k - it can be called that. @sazbad - check your saved videos. It does say 1080p on the box and in the preview, but the clarity is very good.
Connectivity
Connecting and starting stream over WiFi was almost instant (~1-2 sec). And it does stream over internet - turned off wifi and was able to connect, record and control lights, etc over 5G (connection took a bit longer, maybe about 3-5 secs). So, no need to tunnel into your network unless you block all internet access to your cameras.
And no siding clips in the mounting hardware - has drywall anchors and screws and some rubberized pieces to protect the power connections. Overall, I'm quite pleased - the camera looks solid and it didnt even nag me much on the subscription screen. For 30$ factoring in the prime cashback - its a steal esp given the higher resolution.

The reviewer below noted it's actually 2k n not 1080p as advertised, so that would be a plus

For 40$ with charger that seems low risk to buy a few of these
