Definitely not in the same class as B&H.
It means they're in the "They Stink as a Seller League." 6th Ave has a terrible reputation.

B&H and Adorama are factory authorized resellers with stellar reputations. They don't employ bait and switch tactics. They don't pull items like batteries and chargers out of the camera box, and then sell them to you separately. They sell product with full US warranty. When I want to buy a high speed memory card that these types of cameras use, I only buy from B&H or Adorama, not even Amazon, because there are so many counterfeit memory cards, and that's not good in a high performance camera.

Folks, is the Alpha 7 IV worth the price difference over the A6700 for photography (I might record a short video here and there, but very casually)? Per rtings, the main and only difference is full frame vs the other type. I was hoping somebody who had experience with both would provide some insight into the "practical" differences.
If you aren't more than an enthusiast then the 6700 would serve you fine plus the lenses may end up cheaper since they would be aps-c. The IV would be good if you do a lot of low light photography, need the room on the sensor for your type of photography, have the room/shoulders for it when traveling (cause it can add a lot of weight with the lenses), and have the dough for lenses.

These guys are super sketchy. Most of these sellers are but I'd be worried buying anything from 6th Ave. I worked in this market and these grey market dealers are all just awful, greedy, companies.

Be aware that when you use coupons on eBay, you still pay tax on the full listing price.

Regarding the Sony a7R IV, I've owned this camera for *checks invoice* 5 years now and it has been an amazing camera. The 61 megapixel resolution allows for so much headroom when you want to crop. I've been able to get entirely different compositions from a single shot just because of how high of a resolution a RAW file is (they average about 128MB per shot, btw). My camera prior to this was a Canon 5D Mark IV and that one feels like obsolete technology compared to my a7R IV.

They are totally different classes of camera. A7IV is full frame, 33MP, much much better low light / high ISO performance, 1/250 flash sync (only 1/160 on the a6700). A6700 also still has overheating problems even in stills mode, which is insane to me. I think technically the A6700 has more advanced autofocus systems with their "ai" features but nothing that will be significantly useful for non-video modes.

FF is a step up in terms of IQ. It comes at the cost of size and increased price of lenses. It's not a replacement, but an addition. I still use my M6 when i need to travel light. No one wants to carry a FF to family events all the time, unless you want it to be the full time job of taking pictures.

I've never purchased from 6th Ave Electronics. Does anyone have experience with them? Should I just wait for a similar Black Friday deal from a better known retailer?
Pathfinderlsn is right. Nikon, DJI (care refresh), multiple others won't honor warranty claims in US. BH Photo and Adorama are US authorized sellers and shouldn't be grouped in with these guys. Sony has an authorized USA sellers list….they are not on it.

I pulled the trigger yesterday and transaction was approved by my credit card but after a while seller canceled the order and eBay page showed buyer requested to cancel, in fact I even never contacted the seller, this is so ridiculous!but I feel lucky not doing business with this kind of seller. BTW I am still waiting for my refund after one day.

Yes, I went to college in the neighborhood! They grew from 1-2 stoats to most of the block!

As for 6th ave electronics, they used to have a store in Manhattan. I remember it being one of those scammy electronics store where you'd have to haggle for a decent price and its gray market. I think more of a tourist scam store. Locals knew better not to go there.
Adorama and B&H much more reputable.

Yep, this store is known for scams. One of the things they used to do (not sure if they still do) is when you order stuff from them, they'll say there is a problem with your order. Then when you call them, they'll try to sell you other stuff along with your order; if you don't buy the other stuff, they'll cancel your order.

Don't know much about the seller but the camera is great.

Have been using it since launch. Primarily with two sigma art lenses.

Maybe not for pros but for casual/hobby user like me, it's been amazing.

I've gotten most of my gear from them over the years. Import models. Cheaper price. Brand new and never any tax. What more can you ask for.

I bought lenses from them before but don't buy camera bodies. They're all grey market no US warranty and last time I bought a camera they gave me a wrong model. I got full refund but it was a hassle. B&H is way better.

My best guess is that they just run out of stock after everyone from Slickdeals started to order yesterday lol

J&R used to occupy the entire block around the city hall area. they were legit retailers and competed against Nobody Beats the Wiz, CompUSA, and Circuit City. Their stores were divided by Computers/software, Audio/Video, Appliances, and Music. When i was a kid, we used to go there after school to play games on the UMax Mac clones, and listen to the music they had in brand new demo CD players, back when CD's were new and tapes still ruled the audio world. good times. 6th Avenue Electronics was as bad as Willoughby's Camera back then. There were lots of grey market scam artists in midtown that preyed on tourists. Not sure if they have changed since then. Reminds me of Crazy Eddy's.
