For me it took only a few minutes after I made e-gift card purchase.
They mention that it's not visible in the promotional terms too.
On product page:

Though interestingly for me entering "APPLEGIFT" will show "The promotion code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase"But even without it, on the checkout page it directly shows this on the top
