Otherwise would have grabbed one as 2 of my craftsman 3/8" ratchets are slipping..
It really does suck on these V-series ratchets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oOSsOz
The wild thing is Craftsman really was trying to sell these ratchets for $45 to $55 each over the last few years. https://www.acehardware

If you are a Super-lube kind of ratchet guy, you have to drip it in with needle oiler through the selector switch. The rest of the head is completely sealed with a thick silicone o-ring.
I was at Lowes and asked the store manager about warranty claims and he said that for in store warranty service, the purchase has to be from Lowes.
Another options is to contact Craftsman directly.
What I didn't ask is the shipping cost for online warranty claims. Does Craftsman cover both the shipping return and shipping replacements ?
I miss the days when you can just walk-in to any Sears store and get a replacement on the spot.
This is not true they told me the same thing and then I called the corporate number and then they told me to go back into the store, they spoke to the manager, and they were already waiting for me to exchange
However in practice many managers have coached their staff to place additional barriers to returns and warranty claims that are not part of their official policies. This is an effort by the store to have better sales metrics resulting in a better bonus for management.
In my experience if you don't take no for an answer they generally call a manager who shows up, instantly approves the warranty swap before even being briefed on the situation. They might stay just long enough to make sure your not trying to swap to a more premium tool.
