Yes, they will stop litter from tracking all over, but we all know our cats are going to end up peeing on the mat sometime, and when they do, all of the litter on the mat now becomes mushy and hardens to the mat and does not come off. That only encourages them to pee on the matt even more.
After a couple months of that, even with trying to keep them clean, the mats are stinky and disgusting.
