FYI this is the battery to get. It has better cells inside some M12 tools can actually utilize like on the new Gen 2 Stubby.

Battery comparison from Torque Test Channel:

Gen2 5HO: 408
Gen2 2.5HO: 338
Gen2 6Ah: 320
Gen2: 2Ah: 305
Gen2 1.5Ah: 260
Gen1 6Ah: 251
Gen1 5HO: 246
Gen1 2Ah: 193

Waysource, also an authorized Milwaukee retailer, also has the same deal for $59, but with a lower free shipping threshold of $99.

Fasteners Inc is an authorized Milwaukee dealer. I doubt that any Amazon sellers are.

Chances of getting fake, old, or otherwise questionable inventory are pretty high from Amazon and even if you do get a real one, your warranty will be negatively impacted.

This! Most people don't yet understand how prevalent and now incredibly convincing the fakes can be. It's even possible to get fakes from authorized sellers because there's scammers out there returning fakes to the store, brand new unopened, identical looking, and keeping real ones.

So I'm new to M12 stuff, I bought the ratchet with the screwdriver and then the oscillating tool with the XC3.0 batteries. HD mispacked my oscillating tool and now i have a bunch of XC3.0 batteries. I also have an installation driver on the way. I was thinking of maybe picking up the impact driver (surge or gen3) at some point as well. I dont really need more batteries at this point, and I imagine the only tool this may make a difference in is the impact driver maybe?

"Fasteners Inc" is NOT listed as an authorized Milwaukee dealer on their website. There is however, a "Fastenal".

Please correct me if I'm wrong because I would love to buy some of these.

This plus the m18 fuel hackzall comes to $148 (if you have both systems). With a filler and free shipping and no tax, pretty good deal.
