For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

I stopped the year they increased it to $2/month. My life is none the worse. Saving the $12 this year and repurposing the time that would be lost to excessively long and frequent ads.

Hulu's ad services have become less reliable over the last few months. Example: during The Old Man ads would run and then stall. A countdown timer would display and at the end of the countdown the show wouldn't start again. Exiting Hulu and then resuming, the show wouldn't resume at the point the ads started, requiring lots of manual rewind and fast-forward which would sometimes start new ads and a repeat of the lost resume point. This continued for weeks before I finally cancelled because more ads than show content was being streamed.

Don't think I have paid more than $1.99 a month for Hulu in the history of the service. All it is worth too so I hope they never end these deals. I cancelled Disney+ when they hiked the price but doubt I add it. I got sick of Marvel and Star Wars content and I'm not looking forward to it with ads.
