For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

Has Hulu replaced their regular login page with one that wants your DisneyRewards login? My Hulu account login is not the same as my DisneyRewards login. But when I go to the Hulu side, all I get when I try to log in is a page to enter my DisneyRewards login and wants my b'date and sex. I pay for Hulu, have a subscription already, but I can't get to any part of my account. It's all DisneyRewards login which does not take me to my existing account!

Why the deals only cover the hulu and Disney not the trio bundle with Max? Seems like max don't wanted to cover more than 6months but hulu and disney willing to cover the year

Unless they edited it just for Hulu content, episodic TV is 22-24 minutes for a 30 minute episode.
And 5 minutes of ads was standard when it aired on Fox. SO, you are paying for what people used to get for "free". Yay?
Cant imagine they used to push 5 min of ads over 5 times.

Nah. He simply stated how many accounts were subscribed to the ad-tier level, well % of accounts anyway which allowed for people to get concrete numbers because they usually only give 'total subscriber' numbers not breakdowns.
"It's not just about raising pricing," he said. "It's about moving consumers to the advertiser-supported side of the streaming platform […] The pricing that we recently put into place, which is increased pricing, was actually designed to move more people in the AVOD direction because we know that the ARPU [average revenue per user] – and the interest from advertisers in streaming – has grown."

Humm I have the grandfathered ESPN+ (w/ ads) , hulu (w/ ads) and Disney+ (w/o ads) for $23.99 a month and the cost just keeps rising each year. I am only paying $4.xx out of pocket after my amex platinum credit. If I went to the cheaper plan I don't know if I would use the whole credit since providers are limited or wind up with breakage and I can't go back to the old plan. With my luck as soon the as this deal ends Amex will end the streaming credit.

I wonder how they even make enough money with this deal coming out every single year. They have to stop at some point? Those ads must pay a pretty penny.

Sounds like a terrible plan. IDK which services you want/use most out of that bundle nor how much you mind the excessive advertising.

Disney Bundle Trio premium is $26.99 ($3 increase) and you'll get D+ (no ads), Hulu (no ads), ESPN+ (with ads).

There is also the D+/Hulu/Max bundle (all ad-free) $29.99

You could sign up for this $2.99 bundle and ESPN separately for $11.99 (all would have ads) which would total $14.98/month, but IDK if you'd need separate account for the ESPN+. If so, is it worth the hassle to save $2/month? (Disney Trio basic is $16.99/mo)

Right now Peacock with ads is having $1.99/month BF offer (since you're wanting monthly costs for the credit) which lasts 6 months, and Max is offering 6 months at $2.99/month. So.... technically you'd be able to get All 5 of these streaming services for $20/month covered by your Amex offer ($2.99 Max + $2.99 D+/Hulu + $11.99 ESPN + $1.99 Peacock = $19.96) - Of course all the services would be the ad-tier and 2 of them only last 6 months so you'd need to remember to cancel

Learn how to use a router to block all incoming ad traffic. Google the method.
Going off this, does anyone know of an actually effective DNS address(es) to input into your Router to block Hulu ads? (Not talking about at a browser level; I mean Router level, for all connected devices).

What browser is that?
Firefox works great to avoid ads on YouTube, I'd imagine it would also work on Hulu. I believe Brave works too.

Last years $.99 BF deal expired so I transferred to the $1.99 student deal earlier this week. I should have canceled and waited but it may not be worth the effort to change now.

I just canceled my deal from last year and had to create a new email to get this offer. Sucks I'll lose all my shows from where I watched last but worth it to pay $2.99/month for another year
