For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

I had to cancel the $0.99/month Hulu deal (which I took just yesterday)because the new Disney+ deal at $2.99 includes Hulu for 12 months. Additionally, I had to create a new account with a different email address since the canceled Hulu subscription, despite having 12 months remaining at $0.99, was no longer eligible for the new offer

I had signed up for last year's Hulu/Disney+ deal (signed up through Hulu's site) but couldn't get this year's $3 for 12 month renewal to work so I canceled. Logged into Disney+ site with same account and the $3 offer for 12 months deal showed up there so was able to get this on the same account. It shows up as $10.99 but shows it only charged $3 with next month at $3 as well.

Glad I saw this. My membership was due to renew in 3/25/25. Canceled it just now, still have service until then. But I also got the $2.99 deal now for the next 12 months, with a different email.
Eitherway I'm saving, I don't wanna be paying that $159 bill.

I did the same thing. Now I am wondering how to get the Disney+ deal without canceling the Hulu thing I just signed up. Please let me know if you found a way to do this.
