Nice! Most everything is on sale. I wore my first pair of 600s clean through the sole from hiking and daily wear because they were so comfortable over 10 years. Now I have two others. The Crater Rims are a sweet fully American made heavy hiking boot. Rapid shipping and easy returns.

Any recommendations on a waterproof boot? Dont want anything too heavy but also flexibility to wear in colder and warmer climates? Do such boots exist?

I've never owned, but always wanted, a pair of nice boots. Thinking of getting the mountain 600

I'm really picky with footwear (at least I feel like it). After trying on dozens of boots, I ended up with the 8" Vicious model for work. Even though it's a work boot with a safety toe (composite because I'm in the electrical field). It is so comfortable that it has become my go to shoe. Especially for winter, wet/snow, and hiking/outdoor activates.
-Very little break in time (if any).
-The waterproof is good (I added extra spray on as well).
-They feel light / nimble compared to a lot of other work boots.
-The soul feels thin, others made me feel like platforms, and generally disconnected from the ground.
-I like the tread pattern and grip I get from it, and they seem to clear out mud/snow well (compared to my other boots).
-The 8" gives good ankle support.
-Lastly, I think they're great looking, so even if I need to semi dress up, they don't stick out like a sore thumb.
Anyhow, that's my two cents from using them for the last 3 years for close to 2/3rds of the year (fall through spring). Eventually I'll buy a couple more, so I have backups for when these give out. But they still look great, so that's nice.

I own a pair of the Trail 2650s and love them. Super comfortable. Hold up well to a weekend of camping and hiking. Clean up well. They just seem like really solid, well-built shoes. I've heard really good things about their boots also. Between Danner and the Wolverine sales lately, it sounds like we have plenty of solid options.

No experience with danner but may try some. A lot of If not all the sub $150 boots are made elsewhere it seems. Here's a list of USA made boots [danner.com]

I think most are waterproof or made with the similar goretex material... since Timberland ended their pro valor line, I just bought the striker bolt and full bore for work and will retire them to hiking / yard work in a couple of years.

I have a couple pairs of Bull Runs I got probably close to 7 years ago at this point and one of them is still unworn because the first pair is still holding up so well. I bought a moc toe and normal toe on some sort of bogo sale way back when, thinking I'd wear one out in a few years and then switch to the other but the moc toes still look great and everything from the laces to the sole are going strong. Love the boots and always a proponent of the buy once cry once mentality, especially when it comes to things as important as footwear. Made in the USA is just icing on the cake.

I remember buying these for way under the sale price not even 4/5 years ago. Now with 40% it's still more than the msrp back then

Purchased my first pair of Danners earlier this year, Moc-Toe Bull Run's. 8 months in and the soles have worn completely flat and the stitching has ripped open on the left toe box. I do not expect the sole wear to be covered under warranty but I'm hoping they will do something about the boot falling apart.

Also worth noting, I paid $170 for these back in April and they are currently on sale for $187.

For anyone in the Portland, Oregon area, the factory store has 25% off right now and it applies to factory seconds as well. I just picked up some factory second Acadia's for $225.75 after discount (about $100 cheaper than the first quality).

Regarding the quality of Danner boots, this is my fourth pair of Acadia's over the past 20+ years. They all held up well and had been re-soled multiple times. Eventually (I'm talking 5+ years of use) the inside heel lining wears out, and it's just not worth the cost to have a complete rebuild when I can buy new factory seconds for a comparable price.

I once purchased one of their non-US made boots and they were complete garbage, I gave them away instead.

I like how they say "Biggest sale ever!" but I bought Acadia's years ago with a 50% off sale that made them far less than they are now at their "biggest" 40% sale.

if there is not a wide shoe option for these donners, is it best to get a half size up or so? Any one with experience?

Not really a sale...
A few dollars more than I paid not too long ago. At least for the style that I like.
