I dont think thats true. Just looked at the manual and it can still do 240V with one generator, but the max output is only 25A with one Generator:
From the manual:
The output voltage is 120/240V, and the current is only 25A without
parallel connection.
120V socket hole: 120V(Voltage)×25A(Current)=3000W(Output Power)
240V socket hole: 240V(Voltage)×25A(Current)=6000W(Output Power)
When two generators are connected in parallel, the socket can
output 240V voltage at 50A current:
240V(Voltage)×50A(Current)=12000W(Output Power)

Also, I went through the Capital One shopping app and they had an offer for 18% back.

How did you get that 18% off?

Not sure. I think it was because I was browsing this generator previously with the Capital One browser plugin and then when I opened the Capital one shopping app yesterday it showed 18% back at Sam's Club.

I've been watching the Black Friday deals - my criteria was dual fuel, inverter ( mostly for fuel savings) and 7250 minimum watts with a 30 amp plug from a reputable seller for a small home backup. This checks my boxes and even with the SAMS Club membership ($20 on sale) and upgrade to plus for free delivery ($59 - but $15 SAMS cash and cash back on purchases, free delivery over $50) this was still a great deal. Shipping was $32 without Plus.

Super helpful info. I would have bought this…but only 25 amps really ruins the value proposition.

Comparable generators are pushing 30 amps or more on 240v.

Yes, those generators are $1k+ but they are also better brands (Champion) for example.

I don't see this being a big problem. I had mine running 10 circuits in my house with various lights, tvs, modems, fridge etc and it sat at like 1.4 amps running. I'm sure it wouldn't run my 4 ton heat pump but everything else that I need is a breeze for this.
Most other inverters in this price range only have 120v capacity and only a 30 amp outlet. I researched a lot and chose this over any other. I'm sure they are better ones from twice the price but this is a great deal at 700.

Seems like a good deal, any insights on how easy or hard it is to convert this model to Natural Gas?

You're correct. 240v is determined by the plug. You'll be able to run any 240v appliance as long as they can operate within starting/continuous power specs. I'll be able to use this to run my 3 ton AC with soft start no problem plus a few other critical circuits.

What? Really? The picture with the 50A 120/240V outlet is very misleading then. Thank you!

One of the reviews says that in order to get the 240v you need 2 generators with the parallel kit.

That's not how electricity works. Look halfway down page 10 on the manual where it talks about setting the voltage selector switch to 120/240v. It states it's outputting 240v @ 25 amps. There would be no logical reason to put a 50 amp plug on the generator unless it was going to output 240v.

Thanks got one. FIrst ever generator. Anyone got any tips how to break in engine and how to store away until the time of emergency comes. Can we just start it a few times, do the oil change and then store it.
