Good deal. The 8gb is limiting, but we use ours as an iPad -like PC for entertaining kids on road trips. Good for watching movies and light gaming.

Edit: just saw that this is the Surface laptop not the tablet version. Still good deal but not quite as useful as an iPad alternative...

The good news for you is that nearly every laptop made in the past 5+ years lacks the ability to upgrade ram (unless you want to pull out a soldering iron). The only thing that is practical to upgrade these days is the SSD, which may not be the case for much longer.
