Interesting concept, I think they're tuya based even though it says the KMC app.

Also a little wary because there's very little in the form of reviews on these.

It looks like some KMC devices are supported via tasmota (meaning they're Tuya guts) but i dont see this one as supported. If it was i'd def buy it.

Do you need separate app to use it? Or alexa is sufficient?

It works directly with its own integration? Or do you need to flash tuya or do some other shenanigans like a hacs module for it to work?

Tuya definitely is capable of being integrated into HA but my question is if it's flashable with esphome or tasmota so I don't need to go to China for it to work. As in server connection

Is this Matter enabled? If so, we can avoid the native apps and use Google Home to control this.

Kasa is also capable of writing without Internet connection after initial setup. No need to talk to kasa servers or anything outside of the home

Requires modification or with default firmware?

As FYI, I have two other KMC smart plugs and I have them integrated with Home Assistant via the Tuya Local add on. The particular plugs I have also do energy monitoring, but I haven't taken the time to try and get that going in Home Assistant. That's no guarantee these are also Tuya-based, but I figure for this price it's worth a try. I also grabbed the 3 outlet mini "power strip" for $11.99.

I have a bunch of KMC smart outlets and I control all of them with Alexa. You have to do setup in their own app, but then you can see them in Alexa and add them to routines.
