It depends;
I'm usually just cooking for 1-2 people and have this 3qt one and for me it works.
And takes up a lot less counter space.

The 3qt ones also so on sale a lot less often than the more common 6qt

Depends on usage. That 300 watt difference can be big if you are cooking off-grid / solar / van / etc. I have an 8 quart and I've been eyeing this to cook beans or rice from my solar generator.

I had the 6 quart before this and it was big for two people. I ended up selling it

Great price, Instant Pot is a top brand. Had mine for 3 years now. Only use it like once a month. Still going strong!

Any thoughts on whether this size is good enough for two people?

For college kids 3qt is the best. Also depends on the use. We have 6qt and more and they often come on sale not the 3qt one. I had it in my cart, was $53, 3 years ago, and this price after several years.

Does the 3 qt take up a lot less counter space than the 6?

I have both the 6 qt and 3 qt.

The 6 qt is approximately 11 inches in diameter and 13 inches tall.
The 3 qt is approximately 9.5 inches in diameter and 11 inches tall.

Not a huge difference but it really depends on how much counter space you have to begin with.

IMHO it really depends on what dishes you want to make, how much you eat and if you enjoy leftovers. I've used the 3qt for a few years now and have never wished I had the 6qt. I've owned the 6qt previously and the only benefit I can see is making a bigger pot of soup.

Thanks! I've been waiting for a deal on this smaller 700W model for use with an inverter. Been using a 3-1/2qt slow cooker and 3 cup rice cooker for years, so the size should work for me.

6 qt is only $10 more at Target - Black Friday sale $59.
