Don't mean to change the direction of the subject but I am trying to decide on a scooter purchase. The ZT3 Pro is on the list but is there a difference in purchasing the scooter from Segway or Amazon as far as the warranty? It appears not but just looking for others to share their experience. The reason I bring this up is Amazon appears to have a better return policy. Amazon has a 2 month return policy(now) versus 30 days for Segway. With Amazon, you can open the box and return the scooter. Doesn't appear you can do this with Segway. Yes, with Segway it is 30 dollars cheaper but I did see Amazon offering a 25 dollar coupon earlier. I'm hoping it returns again.
I also see that Niu lowered the price by 50 dollars this morning for their NIU KQi 300X. I guess the same question goes for purchasing directly or from Amazon. I see Niu charges a 11 dollar guaranteed shipping charge where Amazon doesn't so in this case cheaper at Amazon.
I am concerned if I have a problem with the scooter and customer support for either manufacturer doesn't provide the support I want or expect. Amazon gives me the option to just return the scooter instead of dealing with the poor warranty support.
I don't know if anyone is interested but with the ZT3 Pro the ZT50OFF coupon code for 50 dollars off works while ordering online with Segway. I have no idea if it will be honored when the item ships. That said, even with the 50 dollar coupon off I purchased it through Amazon.
For the last two days, there has been a 25 dollar coupon or discount at Amazon for the ST3 Pro. If you feel you will have an ideal purchase it might be cheaper getting it from Segway. For any other reason get it from Amazon. I had a less than ideal purchase. For over 2 weeks after the purchase I am told by Segway not to use the scooter with no resolution. I am still waiting for a resolution on what I should do except for not using it. I may end up returning it and Amazon has been willing to pick it up(since the box is so big and heavy) and offer me a refund. I told Amazon I will wait for another week to decide. I could also exchange it but I decided to wait. An exchange may end up having another less than ideal or worst purchase.

I have had very poor experiences with Segway's "warranty" service - they were bad at communicating, made me jump through hoops, and then told me I had wasted my time by jumping through their own hoops. I would NOT recommend buying from Segway at all. Looking online, I found that was an extremely common occurrence - wish I knew that before I went scooter shopping, but here to share my experiences so others could learn from them.
