Dont forget to turn the inflator to the back and look for "type 2" top left next to the model #
Type 1 is the older model that they trying clear inventory.

Reddit posts say that Type 2 has a much better internal pump. Looking at the manuals for both Type 1 and Type 2, there is a sentence removed from the Type 2's manual stating the inflator needs to rest for 20 min after 10 min of use. Otherwise the manuals are the same. So that would support the claim of Type 2 having a superior pump.

Unfortunately, the version of the inflator is not stated on the box to my knowledge.

I've had the "Type 1" for I think about two years and have used the heck out of it. I've inflated varies tires to anywhere from 30 - 75psi. And as already said - it works great even at higher pressures.

So I imagine this "Type 2" with upgraded compressor works even better!

But I really like using the Jerry rigged free air at Lowes.
It's such a great area that it's got tape wrapped all around it when it works.
Just can't have nice things anymore.

Not familiar with that tool.

However, If I were trying to save 1/2 the money and didn't care about branding (or wanted a different battery ecosystem) I'd look for a used/refurbished p747 - it's been a solid tool- and 1st party and third party batteries are more than plentiful.

I've owned and used pistol grip inflators before and hate them constantly falling over from the vibrations- great for fast fills like a ball or bike tire- terrible for larger tires that you set the pressure and let run.

I've head a few of these inflators. They almost all seem to have some terminology referring to heating. They have to rest a certain amount of minutes for minutes pumping. I've had this one and both Milwaukee's and I think they all stated it. But they don't all need the same cooling time.

Thanks, OP! Thanks, all, for the replies about the difference between Type 1 and 2 versions. Will be picking it up at Home Depot since they allow for returns up to 90 days.

Also will be returning the M18 inflator and starter batteries since I'm already on the Dewalt battery system. I know that the M18 is a much faster inflator, but this Dewalt has more versatility.
