Have the picture frame in my home gym and it sounds surprisingly good. As far as Sonos goes… yeah they botched it pretty badly. Seems to be coming back to a more reliable state. I have over a dozen zones and things do get wonky at times. Benefits still outweigh the cons for me. A strong wireless network benefits you greatly.

Is this IKEA Sonos same as Sonos original line or a downgraded IKEA version of the real Sonos?
Basically a clone of each other. My Sonos One SL maybe has 1% better bass than Ikea Bookshelf

All Sonos products are bricks waiting to happen. Don't ever move or get a new router. Support is useless. I've spent about 10 hours troubleshooting this retarded PlayBar and Sub. Sonos support was zero help. They told me to "consider buying a better router". Hey, retards...I already have a 200 dollar router WiFi 6/7 router. Then they tried to blame it on Spectrum. I finally ended up fixing it after 15+ hours of chat and phone support by ignoring everything they told me and doing a factory reset, separating my 2.4 and 5Ghz WiFi channels, and clearing the app cache and memory. Of course you can't find any of this crap online, unless your looking for angry people that also can't get this shit box product to connect to their WiFi. In closing, **** Sonos. Get a regular soundbar. If you do buy Sonos, don't ever get a new router, change ISPs, or move.

To be fair, this sounds like normal IoT troubleshooting. Having a combo 2.4/5ghz SSID for IoT devices is usually problematic. There is also a known issue with Spectrum routers after a firmware update and Sonos devices.

Been wanting the lamp / stand combo for a long time for my surround sound setup. Will replace the bookshelf ones we got years ago. This is a great deal.

For those asking generic questions about Sonos. There is no value in buying Sonos as a bluetooth speaker. If that is all you are after, there are much more cost effective options out there. You buy Sonos for the multi-room audio capabilities. If you aren't chasing that, you are over paying. Is the sound quality good out of most Sonos speakers? Yes it is. Are the Ikea speakers at the same level as the rest of the Sonos line? Yes….as in they are roughly the equivalent of the original Play1 or the OneSL.
Sonos absolutely botched the app this year. It is getting better, but still an absolutely horrible UI. The old app wasn't the greatest UI, but it was more obvious on how things worked than the current generation is.

I am interested in getting these OR the bookshelf ones to use as surround sound. Does anyone have experience with BOTH? I have the arc and some roams for around the house, but can't justify getting the Eras since they are so expensive.

The lamp is an astonishingly stupid design. You have to hunt for and then push the tiny little button to illuminate the bulb, and CANNOT use any wall switch or smart switch because the lamp defaults to off when reconnecting power.

Crazy to think it was just a few years ago Ikea was trying to get rid of the Symfonisks for $50 each in stores

I'm looking for a speaker than either has Google Assistant or can be activated by a Google Home mini, and is primarily for listening to streamed music from my phone/YT music in a single room. I do like the functionality of it being connectable from my phone without having to manually connect to it via bluetooth each time. Are there other options you would say are better?

I have/have had every Sonos product since the mid-2000's, for better or worse. I use the Symfonisk bookshelf speakers in two rooms for rears (one with Arc and one with Beam), the lamps in two rooms, and the picture frame in my den.

The bookshelf speakers are awesome as surrounds, but I believe they were much cheaper 4-5 years ago. Also, the Ones have heavily come down in price. They also do this cool effect when using them as part of a surround setup for music, which is nice.

The frame sounds good, but bass extension is lacking. I had a clock receptacle for it already, so that made sense to keep my den neat.

The lamp is probably closest in sound to the One, but as others have said, you either have to control it with a smart bulb or manually with the button and the playback controls are on the opposite side of the bulb power button.

Anyone who says any of the IKEA speakers are equivalent to One have a different opinion than mine; I prefer Sonos and Bose bass-heavy, compressed mids, and slightly elevated treble for slight sibilance. The IKEA bookshelf and picture frame speakers seem more flat and hollow to me. Lamp is the same, but closest to the One. Now that you can get secondhand Sonos and pretty good sales on the Ones, the value proposition for the IKEA stuff has diminished, in my opinion.

Thank you! I guess I will just look for 2nd hand, or wait for the bookshelf ones to go on sale again at least. I don't want the lamps.

Can i put a much brighter bulb in the floor lamp? It's a little dim based off the photos.
