You can buy 40lb blends from Sam's or Costco for under $15 (not on sale.) Unless you absolutely need cherry for some reason, I use blends for everything and it works out well. I've never once thought "dang I wish I had cherry pellets or maple pellets." You also have to dump your pellets and clear the auger then prime the auger. Seems like a lot of work for this. It's a pellet grill not an offset smoker.

Bought 40LBS at Costco yesterday $21. Interested to see what the flavor profile of Cherrywood is!

I am unsure what you bought.
The Kirkland brand which is 40lb is usually $13 while the Traeger brand which is 33lb is usually $20.

Kirkland pellets are $21 online. Usually cheaper in warehouse during Summer season.

I don't have a Costco membership, but if the choice is 40-Lbs blend for $21 or 20-Lbs cherrywood for $10 w/ free shipping, I know which I'd choose. (I'd rather have someone else haul the pellets to my door.)

Walmart has Pitboss brand apple wood pellets for $8.97 for a 20lb bag all the time. They have other flavors for the same price too.

These comments about an inferior product at a cheaper price are baffling. Don't list the price of apples if someone posts a deal on oranges.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a storage tote for their wood pellets. I see containers on Sams club online that look good with a pour spout that looks like a good feature. Brand Buddeez http://www.samsclub.com/sams/a/prod25780579.ip

Kirkland are Danson (same as pit boss). When Kingsford (Clorox) started doing pellets, I thought they were licensing to Legnetics (Bear Mountain, Lumberjack and nearly every other brand), but the internet is saying they are producing their own now so I guess it took off enough that it is back in house.

So yes, it is different... but I tend to agree with everyone else, it's not Crayola and Rose Art- these products are very very comparable.

If you don't have a cat you can go with a $1 pickle bucket from Firehouse Subs... Toss in an old plastic cup, or a dollar tree scoop and you're all set.

They stay in the garage if unopened. Once opened, they usually fit (in the bag) in one of those HD type buckets with a lid and stay in the back patio. I have a couple of those buckets which stack on top of each other in case I have two different flavors of pellets.

So this is a 'cherry' 'blend'? Does that mean its a blend of different cherry species, or a blend which has cherry? Blends are usually way cheaper than single species, so this smells like a case of marketing gimmick.
