Sound wise? Pretty much the same. Comes with a standard AT3600L cart on it, and I'm sure it's the same bog standard pre-amp as the LP60.

The adjustable speed, strobe light, cueing light, removable headshell, counterweight, and VTA adjustment, though? BIG upgrades from an LP60, if you like to tinker. Normally I'm in these threads yelling "Buy a Fluance!" but this looks to be a good deal on a decent table.

That's because Hanpin makes most of the turntables of this general design which is a Technics 1200 clone (with varying quality of components depending on price point) after their patent expired.

Right now Costco has the Denon DP-300F on sale. The Fluance RT81 is another great deck with a great cartridge and needle included. And the Soony PS-LX310BT is on Black Friday sale for $178, it also does bluetooth and has USB record out. Any of these, including the Pioneer here is a good buy.

Nice… would it be a big upgrade from my AT LP60 TT?

My son has the LP60 and if you like not having to adjust things it's great. The Pioneer will require learning how to balance the arm etc and will allow the use of many different cartridges plus has removable headshell so you can swap out faster.

This appears to be the same design as the Audio-Technica AT-LP120XBTUSB with a cheaper cartridge and no Bluetooth. I don't see why you would get this when the Audio-Technica is on sale for the same price.

EDIT: In fact, the no-Bluetooth Audio-Technica model is on sale for $249 (from multiple retailers including Amazon). There is really no sense to be buying this Pioneer.

The Audio Technica commented above is a close approximation of the SL-1200 (for the price)

No VTA on the Audio Technica one, so slightly less configurable. Other than that, though, definitely pretty similar, likely the guts are largely the same.

I've only recently started getting into vinyl and have a basic turntable. How much difference does this really make? It's essentially an old technology anyways, so would this make a difference compared to a cheap turntable for a casual vinyl listener?

I'll stick with my pioneer pl-560 circa 1979-79 direct drive fully automatic, repeat, built like a tank, etc. if pioneer made the equivalent nowadays that'd be killing it ! Should have never sold my technics 1200's. That was dumb. I'm sure they're still out there somewhere.

I'll be putting my last Technics 1210 mk2 up for sale, if I don't find a job soon 😁
