You don't know what you're talking about. Google AirPod static/crackling. They are notorious for that. Mine failed after three years. Will not last decades.

Guys you don't gotta go to any Apple Store or repair shop to get your AirPods (or most Apple products for that matter) replaced under AppleCare+

Just call AppleCare support (1-800-275-2273) and Apple will quickly ship you a new pair and they include a box for you to send the defective/broken/battery-degraded ones to them. It's that simple. I've done it many times with iPhones and AirPods over the years.

Best to do it right before your AppleCare+ plan expires, and claim battery is poor, so that way you get a fresh pair + charging case with brand new batteries right before the 2-year AppleCare+ plan expires.

The batteries in these things are tiny, and they're the first (and most likely) things to go to shit after a couple years of moderate-heavy use. With AppleCare+, you're basically guaranteed these are gonna last you 4-5 years between the original buds and the last-second AppleCare+ replacements. It's for this reason that I highly recommend getting AppleCare+ for AirPods specifically. Other Apple products aren't as necessary.

You're welcome.

If wanting the warranty (and item price is comparable), I recommend buying it at Walmart. $29 for 4 years ADH with no deductible. They also auto load the receipt to the warranty. I almost bought the Target deal as it would have been cheaper item price with Redcard and Bday discount, but the warranty period was only 2 yrs for $29.
I haven't had any issues with Allstate claims on headphones and Xbox controllers. They either fix or refund the price on the plan.

Isn't this two generations old now? Why are they still 80% of normal price?
The original product came out two years ago, yes, but it's still right up there with the best in terms of features, sound quality, and the integration with iOS is phenomenal. I have many high end IEMs and once you put aside the audiophile snobbery, you can admit that the APP2 is a fantastic IEM.

Your applecare warranty will eventually expire. If you had bought it from Costco, you could return them at anytime.
Earbuds and headphones are excluded from the electronics 90 day returns?

This, if you're worried about any issues. I get eBay refurbished stuff all the time and if it's under $100 they literally just send you your money back immediately if it's defective.

Broke down the math if you want to get the true cost of the AirPods by itself without the AppleCare. It's almost if not matching the current $154 market price like Amazon, Target, and Walmart if you're not including AppleCare. Having the exec membership brings it to about the same $154 market price, and a little more with regular membership.

If you buy AppleCare separately based on Costco's pricing = $23
https://www.costco.com/applecare%...57276.html

AirPods Pro 2 at Costco = $179.99

With exec membership (2% Costco CB)
$179.99 - .02*$179.99 - $23 = $153.39
Regular membership
$179.99 - $23 = $156.99

The best price out there right now is Microcenter, but it is very YMMV and requires PM and $25 off $100 new subscriber coupon. Assume you PM the $154 with Amazon and you can stack it with the $25 coupon. Again, this is at the discretion of the manager for each location. I only saw one poster that successfully got it at this price.
$154 - $25 = $129

Like others have mentioned, the great thing about Costco is their return policy which is "unlimited" and generally they honor the returns. AppleCare isn't really necessary but you're buying it because for that reason. Otherwise a pretty good price for buying it at Costco. If you're talking about price strictly and nothing else matters, then Microcenter (YMMV), then Amazon/Target/Walmart.

Use the $25 off 100 (YMMV) instacart offer and gift cards from costco ($79.99 for $100, need to buy 2), you get this for $160 including taxes and tip and some money left on the insta gift card.

It seems like last week, Costco had it at $189.99 for a very short period of time. Normally $199.99 price.

But you can't buy without Apple Care, so it is at minimum $176.40 with the 2% cash back with executive membership, or an additional 1.5% off if you have their cash back Visa = $173.7

what's the point of paying this price? Use a good 2 year warranty credit card and protection and done. Buy from target or amazon

So it would depend if you want to pay an extra $20 for basically a lifetime warranty.
