You don't know what you're talking about. Google AirPod static/crackling. They are notorious for that. Mine failed after three years. Will not last decades.
No, this is the latest generation of AirPods Pro
Guys you don't gotta go to any Apple Store or repair shop to get your AirPods (or most Apple products for that matter) replaced under AppleCare+

Just call AppleCare support (1-800-275-2273) and Apple will quickly ship you a new pair and they include a box for you to send the defective/broken/battery-degraded ones to them. It's that simple. I've done it many times with iPhones and AirPods over the years.

Best to do it right before your AppleCare+ plan expires, and claim battery is poor, so that way you get a fresh pair + charging case with brand new batteries right before the 2-year AppleCare+ plan expires.

The batteries in these things are tiny, and they're the first (and most likely) things to go to shit after a couple years of moderate-heavy use. With AppleCare+, you're basically guaranteed these are gonna last you 4-5 years between the original buds and the last-second AppleCare+ replacements. It's for this reason that I highly recommend getting AppleCare+ for AirPods specifically. Other Apple products aren't as necessary.

You're welcome.

what's the point of paying this price? Use a good 2 year warranty credit card and protection and done. Buy from target or amazon
Credit card warranties are very hit or miss, and usually a miss because they make it very hard to claim warranty like no other. Not saying all claims are like that but a quick search online shows you just that. Only credit card warranty that is phenomenal is AMEX warranty, but all others use credit cards use Asurion or similar "not so great" warranty companies, and they require a lot of documentation, proof of unrepairability, and jumping through hoops even for low dollar items. You can make it work of course, but it's not for everyone.

I think you are replying to the wrong person but that's exactly my point, a lot less hassle buying from Costco.

If wanting the warranty (and item price is comparable), I recommend buying it at Walmart. $29 for 4 years ADH with no deductible. They also auto load the receipt to the warranty. I almost bought the Target deal as it would have been cheaper item price with Redcard and Bday discount, but the warranty period was only 2 yrs for $29.
I haven't had any issues with Allstate claims on headphones and Xbox controllers. They either fix or refund the price on the plan.
Others have said the same thing about Allstate claims and headphones, so I'm going to go this route. The Costco price is a little disappointing for a BF sale.

.....So you're saving nearly $30 and have a built-in mechanism to repair/replace these as needed for two years and this is NOT a deal in your eyes?

HRM
These things are kinda difficult to break so idk how much value AC+ adds. It's also cheap enough where if it does break, you can buy another one relatively easily

This version + the last has a "known" issue with static noises. I avoided going to the apple store to fix my current V1 pair, but bought AC+ for last night's purchase so could easily swap out the moment I am met w/static when putting them in my ear as it's quite annoying

Use the $25 off 100 (YMMV) instacart offer and gift cards from costco ($79.99 for $100, need to buy 2), you get this for $160 including taxes and tip and some money left on the insta gift card.
I noticed the instcart offer is only for Costco Same Day delivery, right? If that's the case, can I still use instcart GC to purchase? Thanks

Is there a source for this? Costco refused my return when I brought in defective AirPods about a year after the purchase.

Think you can also go to an Apple approved service location like Best Buy, etc. Can use Apple's website to find locations close to you.
