You don't know what you're talking about. Google AirPod static/crackling. They are notorious for that. Mine failed after three years. Will not last decades.

Guys you don't gotta go to any Apple Store or repair shop to get your AirPods (or most Apple products for that matter) replaced under AppleCare+

Just call AppleCare support (1-800-275-2273) and Apple will quickly ship you a new pair and they include a box for you to send the defective/broken/battery-degraded ones to them. It's that simple. I've done it many times with iPhones and AirPods over the years.

Best to do it right before your AppleCare+ plan expires, and claim battery is poor, so that way you get a fresh pair + charging case with brand new batteries right before the 2-year AppleCare+ plan expires.

The batteries in these things are tiny, and they're the first (and most likely) things to go to shit after a couple years of moderate-heavy use. With AppleCare+, you're basically guaranteed these are gonna last you 4-5 years between the original buds and the last-second AppleCare+ replacements. It's for this reason that I highly recommend getting AppleCare+ for AirPods specifically. Other Apple products aren't as necessary.

You're welcome.

Apple care worth nothing, this thing lasts for decades
I forgot mine in the pocket and washed a few times, still work. But started acting up. Luckily, I have apple care+ until 2026. Will bring it in when it gets worse. So, this is a very good deal.

Is the Target $20 off $125 deal on AirPod Pro for $134 a better deal without Apple care?

But will they price match if i got it for 199 2 weeks ago?
It doesn't matter. Buy one at the current price and return using the receipt from 2 weeks ago.

I bought these from Costco 2 years back and started having issue recently with mic. Costco took them back and refunded me the money. Buying from Costco again at this price for the return policy even though I can buy the same from Target for $124
Thought I'd chime in too since someone else also brought this up a few pages back. I also purchased these from Costco a couple years ago. One of the earphones started getting static noise when I would use them. If I put them back in their case it would sometimes go away. Anyway, I tried to return them with Costco and they refunded me without any issue.

All else being equal, Costco will take it back no questions asked (even after 2 years).
Apple won't. They will also test before taking it back and not take after 2 years (I believe)

Costco has only a 90 day return for most electronics I believe

Oh my god, imagine being this much of a low class fraudster and trying to justify it like this! Oh boo hoo your battery life is just 80% after TWO YEARS! That's NORMAL WEAR, not a defect in the product. Sorry but I just can't imagine being poor and tacky enough to lie on a returns form like that.
I was thinking the same. And despite how others downvoted you, what you said rings true. What he did was fraud.

So near the end of 2 years and the batteries are still good but I in fact can claim poor batteries anyway to get a new pair? Would that be called fraud and be subjected to conviction? Even if not I can't live with a righteous conscience.

You're *spending* $25 ($180 on Costco- $155 on Amazon/Best Buy) for a warranty you probably won't need or actually use. Apple is supposedly so dependable, I'm not sure 2 year warranty is even worth considering on a brand new item. You'll know if it is defective within the first month. Consumerism *wants you to think* you're saving when you're actually spending it...Alternatively there are refurbished units with 1 year warranty but you only save $5 right now, so it's not worth it
People are downvoting but I agree, most apple products are built to last. I literally just bought these for black fridays using Target 10% + 5% + $20 off, they had them for $156 got them for $120.
