This is the new All-Time low (previous was $20.39. Source: ITAD).

Remains the best VR Game production that exists. Can be played on Meta Headsets through Meta Quest Link (but requires a strong PC).

A VR game set in the Metro series just came out - Metro Awakening. The gameplay and graphics both look pretty impressive.

What is the cheapest VR headset that would give a decent experience? Been wanting to play this game but not spend $300 on a headset. I know some of the AR mixed reality headsets are supposed to be capable.

I know. it's average at best and on PC it has not high res assets it's just Quest mobile graphics. Huge disappointment. Highly overrated. It's a sin to consider it even close to this masterpiece.

Meta Quest 3S. $300 is cheap for VR. And if you want to play Alyx you'll need a decent PC as well.

How does the Meta Quest 3S compare to PSVR2? PSVR2 is $350 pretty much everywhere, and can also link to PC with an additional $50 piece of hardware.

When you consider the total package - this is honestly one of the best games ever made. Is it the best shooter ever if it was on a desktop? No, but when you add VR to the conversation nothing a 2D television can deliver comes close. It's absolutely criminal they havent figure out a way to port this on every single headset available to spread VR adoption as quickly as possible

I bought a VR headset (Oculus Rift S) just for this game. Before, I had never even considered buying a VR headset as I considered it gimmicky. Boy, was I wrong. HL: Alyx is easily one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had in 30+ years of gaming. It is also unfortunate, since it sets such a high standard for other VR games.

This has become my favorite game. I've probably played through it at least 10 times now. If you (or your kid) has a Quest 2 (or higher VR laying around, get this game and connect it to your PC) and you should be good to go assuming your Wifi router is modern enough. Alternatively you can get a long USB-C data cord and hook up, but you'll have to deal with the buggy oculus desktop app.

If only I had a computer that can run this to my quest 3. I don't think my laptop onboard iris graphics will cut it

I had the same limitation. Ended up buying a used thunderbolt eGPU enclosure and a 6650 XT. So ~$350 sunk in almost exclusively for the purpose of playing this game on my Quest 2. In hindsight I probably should have just invested the extra couple hundred bucks for an entry/mid-tier PC. But even still, it was so, so, so worth it. One of, if not the best gaming experience I've ever had.
