170 new is better than 160 refurb which was posted literally yesterday here

https://slickdeals.net/f/17934441-refurb-logitech-racing-wheels-g923-196-g920-g29-160-11-nm-dd-pro-560-free-s-h-playstation-pc-or-xbox-pc?v=1

in my frenzied woot induced research i also noticed the g29 is better than the g920 which i had no idea about before, it has more buttons and some lights. i only plan on using it on pc and apparently g29 works on pc, so i lucked out

if you want to get lucky maybe you can get 145 refurb on woot or 120 refurb on secondipity, it happened before and i was waiting for it, but its a gamble if it will appear soon and those are refurbs anyway so i just pulled the trigger on this, i live my life a quarter mile at a time

I highly recommend the models with Trueforce if you're an adult buying for yourself.

Can you explain, please? And I'm guessing this one doesn't have it?

How realistic is the clutch and shifting with these things? Can any manual drivers chime in?
Is the clutch on/off or is there some progressive engagement?

While it does, I do wish I had gone for a G920 instead. I've never seen a game actually use the lights or let me do anything useful with the extra buttons, and some games don't know what the buttons are at all so it's like "Push button 19 to continue" and you're like "what the heck is button 19 again?" Big Grin

Edit: If anyone wants my opinion on these! If you're on the fence about whether to buy a wheel or not? Yea these are fine. I bought a set new and used it like a grand total of 3-5 times maybe. I bought a very heavy gtracing apex stand for it, considered one of the better wheel stands... and then used it ONCE. That's it. Getting that big heavy ugly stand sealed the deal on me never using the stupid thing again lol.

What the wheel was nice for: Steering and pedals feel a lot less arcade-ish than an xbox controller! With the controller I find it impossible to modulate the throttle/braking and tend to slam wall to wall. With the wheel I can drive slower and make turns better! SWEET! It's a game changer........

But yea setting up the wheel is a pain in the ass.

On the plus side, if you buy one of these and then later decide to sell it, you're barely out any money. If you went and bought a playseat and a fanatec setup or whatever you're going to be out a lot more money lol.

I can say, the quality of the wheel and pedals and (optional) shifter didn't sway me one way or another. The g29/g923 wheel is small, but it feels nice in the hands so I don't mind the size. The pedals are a lot better than I expected, given their reputation. The shifter is ok. The thing I didn't expect was how the force feedback works. Maybe it's the games I was playing or the type of wheel, but I didn't feel any "feedback" AT ALL. It just provides turning resistance. But if you hit a curb or go off the road or whatever? It doesn't feel any different.

Oh right the turning resistance. It's got a dead spot on center. The dead spot being annoying or getting worse over time is the number one complaint about these wheels. Thing is, I daily drive a Jeep that also has a little dead spot on center, so I'm kinda used to that lol.

I wish the wheel was bigger and soft leather, like my lambo's steering wheel.
