Just go to slickdeals search tab and type in Lowes and sort by newest to oldest. One of the many prices mistakes tonight is free dewalt batteries. I believe if your area had that offer It's long out of stock now

In for one cancellation because they couldn't find it at the local store! TU anyway.

Really hope it doesn't get cancelled because I could use the 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets.

I do not recommend anybody to get this, it does not include the extensions for the rachets, which is completely illogical. I am going to return mine.

These are interesting because I thought they were 12 point, but actually they are some 5 way combo that lists on the description as "This set features Craftsman's Universal sockets, which can accept 5 different types of fasteners - Hex, Star, Square, 12-Point, and Spline"

No idea if they are any good, especially when torqued higher. But its neat and different, hopefully someone here knows the answer if they work.

I just picked this up. I have to say I like the idea of the case, but hate the follow through. It's so bulky with wasted space. Any ideas for improvement, without just tossing the tool tray? I want the socket organization, but not 70% wasted space.

If you don't know what these look like Google Craftsman universal socket and Google images will show you. But imagine a 12 point with the points replaced with squares like an AR-15 lug, if you're familiar. Jury is out on these. I keep a set in my "scrap yard" bag because I don't care if I round or strip bolts taking things off out there. If you're at home one should always use the right socket for the right bolt/nut. I like the idea of these, but I hate the idea of needing to buy a specialized bolt at the dealer or making a junkyard trip to find a new one because my "universal socket" shredded it.

You are right about the missing extensions, however, $30 for this set is a good deal. Most people probably already have an extension so not a huge issue.​ And a very inexpensive 3/8 drive extension can be as low as $1.97 (Evercraft at NAPA) or a Craftsman for around $5-$8.

3/8 socket extension (6") (for reference)
