**Edit, Wyze seems to have changed the credit to $5 back for $50, $10 for $75 and $15 for $100+ order, boo.

Nice deal, lowest I've seen for the V4 and if you get it from wyze.com you get the wyze credit (up to $15 back for $75+ orders) and 12% CB right now with R.

Differences from the OG are:

QHD (2.5k vs 1080p)
WiFi 6
More lumens on the LEDs (72 vs 40)
WDR
Magnetic base
Smart Focus

and if you want to compare it against the V3 you get the above stuff minus mag base since it also has it but:

V3 doesn't have a LED light at all
V3 has slower and worse motion detection due to not having the Edge AI so it just relies on Pixel differentiation
V3 has slower notification speed than V4/OG
V3 has inferior mic/speaker and lower dB siren

Live video works without any subscription. Wyze cams do not support rtsp so no blue iris.

Still works well enough for me with sd cards plugged in and no subscription.

This camera does not support Cam Lite, no RTSP support,
no video recording to SD card without subscription
Wyze cam v3 was the last camera that supported Cam Lite.
I prefer v3 more.

I record to SD on my v4 without subscription. Not sure where people get wrong info all the time

Everything else you said is correct tho

What is the difference between this and the Wyze OG for $10? - https://slickdeals.net/f/17937225-wyze-cam-og-indoor-outdoor-wired-1080p-security-camera-black-or-wh...

this might be an issue with the SDcard. check what format the sd card is formatted to.

i have 7 or so og cam since introduced and all of them can format my sd cards if i need to. just have one break last week and was able to get a replacement up and running in about half hr. (too many firmware updates and can't skip to the latest one)

been thinking about upgrading, but think i might just wait until these things do 4k recording. then i'll def make the jump. =) happy camming

Just another difference between the v4 and OG is that the OG can't control the lamp power socket adapter (learned from personal experience). It can be powered by it but the smart socket capabilities are restricted to the v3 and v4 cameras.

Seems like for 4 cameras, it's $70 at Costco for both v3 and v4. 4 seems obvious choice, but maybe 3 is preferred somehow?

I am seeing $15 back on $100 - did the discount change since you posted earlier today?
Oh wow, I just checked and its not $5 for $50, $10 for $75 and $15 for $100. It was $5 for $25, $10 for $50 and $15 for $50... I've gotten the $15 credit on my last 3 orders, all under $100 πŸ˜•

Only reason for sticking with v3 IMO is for those with cam lite subscription like myself and you'll still get the 12s clips on the event tab

Would an ordinary Micro SD card work or does this require those extreme, high endurance cards.

How's the actual live video quality of the 4 vs the V3, og, V3 Pan?

Will it take a 1tb card?

One major difference between the V3 and V4 is that the newer model has a slightly reduce field of view compared to the V3. For two of my V3s, I'm sure I would need to either re-position entirely or get 2x V4s to cover the same swath. That, and many product reviews report a lot of stability issues with the newer cams too (But they've had less firmware updates because they are new, so I would imagine they'll improve over time).

Regular, name brand of course, will work. But may fail sooner due to constant usage.
So make sure to format and take out to test every month or so to be safe.
