I agree that the price is not that great. There are some other 12V automotive battery charger deals that have come up which were better. Noco is riding a little too high on their brand name, especially with a low-end charger like this one.
Title should read Genius 1 not Genius1 as it didn't trigger a search alert that I had.
This is a sale price but the original Amazon price is $29.99 not $39.99 so while it is a markdown, it's not a big markdown. I've been watching this item for months on Amazon, and the price has been $29.99.
I did vote this post up and will probably buy. I've been hoping it would drop to $19.99 though.

Not an expert and not trying to pick a fight but the product listing on all Noco battery charging devices reads Genius1, Genius2, Genius5 etc…

Yeah maybe, but NOCO does make really good stuff. I'm happy to pay a premium especially when dealing with so many super sketchy Chinese knockoffs that either skimp on safety or just flat out lie about the specs.

Got a new Car battery from Costco which was not fully charged so I plugged in this and it shows that battery is at 40% level. Within 5mins charging stopped and battery was 100%
I checked again in morning and battery level was dropped to 80% again. Battery was not even installed between this two charge cycles.

I have this- it's great for maintenance if you are keeping a car hooked up over the winter. If you expect it to charge your battery quickly though look for a bigger unit. This one could take a couple of days to charge up a severely discharged battery.

I've had that happen, too. Just return and swap. Try and get a different date code. More importantly, look for different factories as well. I once swapped out a made in Mexico battery with a made in America battery that were right on the shelf next to each other at Costco. Their inventory turns very quickly so you can go back in two weeks and find a battery from a different plant.
I have the Noko one amp and the Noko five amp. They are both terrific. I've had them for almost five years. Charge your battery regularly and it lasts forever. I'm over seven years and the battery still tests perfectly.

Thanks for the insights. I was not sure if it was battery or charger. Normally, how long does it take to charge car battery from 50% to 100%?
I work from home in a cold climate with a garage that does not have heat. I got this a few years ago to keep an older car battery topped up in the cold as I wouldn't need to drive for 5-6 days at a time. It worked fine for that but looking back I wish I had spent $10 or $15 more to get a bigger version for more use cases.
